April 16, 201016 yr I'm sorry if this has been covered before.. but I really need to understand whats going here...Was it the 197.41 or the GTX480 that 'COMPLETELY' (and I mean COMPLETELY) eliminated any trace of shimmering using the NV cPanel?I have an airport (Dublin by Eiresim) that has a perimeter fence, that looks more like an electrified fence. for those that have this scenery, I think they know what I mean. After installing the new card, the fence looks a little bit more 'opaque' but, there is no trace of shimmering of ANY kind, so what I'm trying to understand is 'what' caused this, the card, the drivers or both? it's practically unbeliavable... the IQ is outstanding.

That was some time ago. The 197.45 drivers that I presently use have the same qualities. No need for nHancer to get rid of shimmering. If it's the driver or the card? Install your previous card and report back on your findings, please! Revert back to some 196 version and test for shimmering. Then install a new driver version and rerun your test. Don't forget to use a driver cleaner program (such as Driver Sweeper) to remove all old driver files before installing a new driver.

I have upped the AA do reduce shimmering. So to me these drivers at least compared to my all time favorites (182.50's) do not offer the same AA/Anisio with the default Nhancer settings. Hope this helps. Bob G

IIRC, it was the anisotropic setting that changed it. RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
