April 21, 201016 yr Do you know how to remove taxi signs on the runway at Pudong, Shanghai airport (see pic below)?I am using the AFCAD scenery file zspd_ade_rs_fsx.zip downloaded from http://library.avsim.net/zipdiver.php?DLID...19&Cookie=1. Harry Sung
April 22, 201016 yr Your options:1. First verify that there is not more than one "AFCAD" file on your computer for this airport.2. Download the free Airport Design Editor and modify the "AFCAD" file yourself.3. Contact Ray Smith by email and ask him if he can fix it. The email address should be in the readme file. You must mean taxiway instead of runway (unless you are landing on the taxiway). I see no taxisigns in the taxiway as you are showing. It appears that option 1 above is your problem. There is a free program available from Scruffyduck that searches for duplications in airport scenery. Art
April 22, 201016 yr I agree with Art.First check that you do not have any other AFD files for this airport. FSX Airport Scanner (latest version is available from the Files Section here at AVSIM) should be able to help. Jon ------- Microsoft Flight Sim MVP Airport Design Editor FSDeveloper.com

How do I identify and fix the taxi signs sitting on the taxiways? Harry Sung
April 22, 201016 yr Moderator I also have Airport Design Editor, but this is a big airport with many taxi signs. How do I identify and fix the taxi signs sitting on the taxiways?Well, since ADE9X is a visual display, I'd use my eyes! :( Seriously, zoom in on the area and see the taxisigns being drawn in the taxiway. Select them with your mouse and drag 'em off to the side where they belong. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

How do I identify and fix the taxi signs sitting on the taxiways? That's a real puzzle. I looked at Ray Smith's version of the airport in FSX and in ADE and found no taxisigns in the taxiway as shown in your picture. I downloaded from AVSIM and installed yesterday and don't know for sure that it's the same as what you are using. You might try removing it and download again from the AVSIM library. Art
April 22, 201016 yr Well, since ADE9X is a visual display, I'd use my eyes! :( Seriously, zoom in on the area and see the taxisigns being drawn in the taxiway. Select them with your mouse and drag 'em off to the side where they belong.I would be suprised if any of Ray's work contained signs on taxiways. First thing is to check if any are on the taxiways in ADE. If you connect ADE to FS and move your plane to one you can check in ADE. If there is no sign located in ADE where the plane is then I would continue to suspect duplicates. If there is then try moving it, recompile and see if the sign is moved in the Sim. Select them with your mouse and drag 'em off to the side where they belong. The duplicate taxi signs do not appear in ADEX, and I have downloaded Scruffyduck's latest Airport Scanner to run another scan. I even deliberately put a couple of other duplicated AFCAD's to confirm I am using the tool correctly.I have been exchanging emails with Ray as I am getting duplicate taxi signs in the ZGGG AFCAD too, and tried a couple of things to no avail. I don't doubt Ray's AFCAD's and believe the problem is somehow related to my FSX config.Tonight, I had a breakthru when I added an exclusion rectangle to exclude stock taxi signs ... and the duplicates are gone!
