mscomctl.ocx Error

Featured Replies

:( When I change to an i7. Until then I don't need it.If Ken navigates to the c:\ prompt and types DIR mscomctl.*/s it should clear things up. Of course that was going to be the next thing you suggested. :(
I just switched to W7 64 Ultimate Upgrade. I received the same "comlg32.ocx" error. I opened "Administrator:Command Prompt" and typed , regsvr32 "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSCOMCT2.OCX. I received Successfully registered conformation. But when clicked RC Icon I received the same error massages "comlg32.ocx'Will you please advise.Sanal

if your error was comdlg32.ocx, you would need to register "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\comdlg32.ocx"and i would change directories to c:\windows\syswow64, then execute the command, not registering it from wherever the dos prompt opens up in.jd

I tried Pinned info. It did not worked.I have Windows7 64 Ultimate. I downloaded Comdlg32.ocx and registered 32 and I copy/pate to 64. I comfirmed Comdlg32.ocx in both registry 32 and 64, but I am still receiving following error MSG.

Here is it:
put the mscomctl.ocx file in the c:\windows\syswow64 directorythen follow the pinned directions, (starting cmd with admin rights, cd to the c:\windows\syswow64 directory, regsvr32 command with the /u option, and then the regsvr32 command) i think you will have success.screen shot with commands you typed, if you have any more problems.jd

I completed second step and received "Success" conformation, still I am getting same error msg. This is not the problem of Rc4.I think this problem developed during the switching from Vista64 to W7 64 Ultimate, some files either corrupted or lost. I uninstalled Rc4 and will reinstall again. Will you please inform where shall download FSX Rc4. I will also need KEY to register. I hope I am right. We will see. Thanks for your ongoing supportSanal

Sanal,if your error message is telling you that "comdlg32.ocx is not registered or is missing", then registering "mscomctl.ocx" won't help you, you should be registering "comdlg32.ocx".Download comdlg32.ocx from here , unzip and place the file into the \Windows\SysWOW64\ dir. Then run "regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\comdlg32.ocx" Remember to right click the command prompt and run as admistrator.Your comdlg32.ocx should now be registered, giving you the same type of confirmation as you had for "mscomctl.ocx".Re-installing RC4 won't help you, as it's a VB runtime library that your missing on your system.Regards,............Adrian W.
