Try launching it 'as admin' right click on fsx exe and select run as admin. This doesn's sound like a nanny-security problem but the above might work. I think you have a bad installation, surprised the reinstall didn't work. I bet one of the sharper guys here can offer better ideas. Use the W7 system tools and find the trouble log to see if there are any clues there. I'm sure the OS has a reason that FSX is aborting startup. The first time it starts it does a lot of generating indexes and so on.. hmmmAlso might try the AVSIM FSX forum, there might even be a thread there dealing with this exact problem.

Dan,Thank you for your replay. I am working on this problem over 12 hours.I shut down UAC, virus and all security defenders,. Maybe I uninsatall and reinstall the FSX close to 10 times. Still the same problem. Always I end up with "Fatal error". There is some thing wrong with W7 installation I think. My last chance " I have no idea what am I doing" I will reinstall the W7 and install with out any backup /addons files. Than I will install FSX. I tried to followup Nick's advise for w7 64 installation.. I was lost. He wrote the qudience for advace PC knowlenge members not like me.Best regards

I quite possibly may be your video driver. The MS generic quite possibly may be causing conflicts. Try installing the driver specific tp your card. Might work :( Jim

Thank you to all who responded,Problem found. W7 64 Ultimate Upgrade has some conflict with Vista 64. Therefore I was getting many problems installing the FSX. Based on Dell Support, I have to uninstall W764 and reinstall Vista 64. Then with out any addons/files I made a clean install W7 64 Upgrade. To avoid any conflicts between W7 64 Upgrade and Vista 64, it was advised to use Full W7 64 Ultimate instead of the Upgrade.Regards
