May 2, 201016 yr I was thinking of purchasing this program but had a few questions first for anyone using it.I'm using ActiveSky 6.5, and Ground Environment Pro.The main selling point for me is how it handles IFR/IMC. I'm very unhappy with the way ActiveSky 6.5 depicts IMC conditions. I'm aware of the limitations of getting a good, solid overcast layer but I'm wanting the ability to "fly into" low weather and visibility. Am I able to fly into the clouds with this program without them just moving and twirling all around me. I would like the ability to break out of a cloud layer on approach.I toyed around with FSX, and one feature I really liked was the water when it was cranked up. Can REX2 improve the water in FS9 to something similar? Also, am I capable of running the weather using ActiveSky 6.5? Do I have to re-run REX2 prior to every flight to see different weather conditions using the cloud textures? Thanks for any help.Robert Williams Robert J. May 2, 201016 yr Because FS9 does not support water reflections like FSX it will never look quite as good but with the recent update to the water from REX I personally think that when the weather is right and you have your water settings done well it can look almost as good.
May 2, 201016 yr When it comes to water in FS9 Zinertek's rendition is the only way to go. It rivals FSX's water in many respects... FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
May 2, 201016 yr Also, am I capable of running the weather using ActiveSky 6.5? Do I have to re-run REX2 prior to every flight to see different weather conditions using the cloud textures? To answer your questions.1) Yes. You don't have to use REX's weather generator.2) No--BUT, sometimes changing conditions call for different cumulus textures, in which case you'll have to start the texture installer. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

May 3, 201016 yr From the posts, you and I might be the only ones that really love Zinertek's rendition. jerrycwo4
May 3, 201016 yr Actually correction I forgot about Zinertek. I have not reinstalled it since my new computer but once I find my backup it will surely be on my hard drive again.
