Hi all, This is my first post here, so I hope im in the right section :-)I am going crazy with my fs9 setup.I have recently started flying more seriously, and thus I have also invested in a number of add-on scenery :(However, a lot of those are not showing up in fs9, which frankly makes me go crazy. Most of the stuff works just fine, however, almost all of my airports do not work. They show up in sf9 without buildings. Basically just a large empty field with some scattered buildings and gates. (and all ai are there as well.)I'm pretty sure it all has to do with layering in FS9, and the way I have it setup, but even when I put an add-on airport on top of the list, it still doesnt show up! With the setup as it is now, I have geneva (lsgg) on top of the scenery list. In FS9 it shows up as 1 runway with some parking areas next to it.I have attached my scenery.cfg file as a textfile.Cheers, and thanks for any and all tips! I really help someone can point me in the right direction.

Is the scenery.cfg file in that actual format? I doubt fs9 can read it properly without carriage returns but I may be wrong.Dave

Hi Dave. This is the scenery.cfg file. I just changed the cfg extension to txt

i would say there is something not right with that scenery file, but not really sure how to fix it.Are you using win 7 by any chance???

 Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.

If this was my scenery.cfg file, the very first thing I would do would be to run a "renumbering utility" on it to clean it all up. Such utilities will also apply a consistant blank space between entries - making the whole thing much, much easier to read and troubleshoot.I use FSTscenery by Steve Greenwood for this. Free and works like a charm in FS2004 and FSX.You can get it here:http://home.earthlink.net/~smgreenwood/resources-g.shtml Click on the Resources label at the top Right side of the page which will display and then Select the "Utility to sort and renumber scenery.cfg layers"Be sure to read the instructions very carefully. The way the file is now, it is almost impossible to see if you have a simple error like duplicate numbers etc..

Hi Opa. Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a go later today. @Flyinpilot I'm on xp.

Hi Opa, I ran the program.Attached is the new cfg file. I can't see a difference though. It ran very fast with no errors. I only got a message that it created a backupfile.

Just a little update.I unchecked (turned off) everything I could in the scenery manager in fs9 with the exception of the lsgg airport, and still it wont show! Also tried the same with eham add-on airport. This one turned into 1 giant grassfield lol. What is going on here?Did I somehow turn off the loading of 3rd party airports?Basically I believe there might be some other setting wrong, because my fs9 installation simply doesnt load 3rd party airports. Could it have to do with the fact that im using 9.1 ?

Your scenery.cfg file looks much neater now. I took a quick look but did not spot an obvious error. The use of Ver. 9.1 should not be a factor - the vast majority of us use that version with no issues. How do default airports look? Are they barren of any runways etc. also?I don't believe you ever told us what Operating System you are using - XP, Vista or Win 7 ? That info might help.I just love a good mystery!EDIT ADDED:The only thing I did notice was the very first entry is different than mine - mine reads:General]Title=FS9 World SceneryDescription=FS9 Scenery DataClean_on_Exit=FALSEThat should not be the culprit however. To anyone who may be downloading his scenery.txt file - after downloading it, change the name back to scenery.cfg and it should display normally using Notepad. It has to have a txt extension to upload here.

Well my first question would be, could you check your scenery slider and move it full right if it isn't already? In many cases you need "extremely dense" to get everything to show.scott s..

Hey guys. Thanks again for the suggestions.Sorry for not mentioning this b4, but I am on windows XP.Also, I have all sliders set to full, so everything should display. To clarify even more. When I uncheck all add-on parts for amsterdam, and just use the default scenery, I get the standard airport. Then, When I go back and activate the 3 cloud9 parts for the airport and restart, everything is gone lol.I just get a field with some runways (sometimes with grass over them).

Sounds as if you are doing the very same things we all would do if we had the issue. (Trial and error). From what you have stated so far, it would point to the 3 cloud9 parts and/or Amsterdamn as at least being suspect. With everything except the required entries disabled (keep the Addon scenery one also) try adding back in one or two of the airport only add-ons and then test to see if they appear properly. If they do, then add a few more entries. Sooner or later you should discover what is causing the problem and it may well be a priority issue.

Another thought......I took another look at your "cleaned up" scenery cfg file and noted that a number of terrain entries are mixed in with first group which are normally just the required entries.I am speaking of the UT entries.I don't have that enhancement so do not know if that is where they belong or not. Perhaps the UT install program put them there - I just do not know.On my setup, the first 38 entries are all of the required, default entries and number 39 is my Addon scenery folder. It might be a good idea to review the install instructions for everything you have installed, looking for "placement" or "priority" instructions.Good Luck!

Well I still cant read your scenery.cfg file clearly I'm afraid - still no returns for me.I seem to remember having a problem with fs reading new scenery files whilst designing a scenery a long while back. Checking the "Empty CD-ROM scenery cache on exit" box (Settings/Scenery Library) cured it I think.Dave
