"Free Emma Field" picked up by Google

Featured Replies

The other day I wrote a short post about a neat little scenery of Sky King's Flying Crown Ranch and through a POOR choice of words I labeled it, "A Free Emma Field". Someone else wanted some pictures of Emma Field so I entered "FS 2004 Emma Field" into Google, to locate it's commercial site, to add a link for the photos and was very surprised that Google had picked up and listed my Avsim Forum thread as a Emma Field link. I need to be more careful ! jerrycwo4

Actually, it sounds to me like Google did exactly what I would want it to do, and worked perfectly, and your original post was spot on as far as topic and content is concerned. So I'm not really sure what you feel you "need to be more careful" about -- Now, whether or not anyone wants to post into an open forum and risk ever being "discovered" by Google is another matter. A good way to protect your identity is to use a pseudonym whenever and wherever you post.

Hello jerryjust type jerrycwo4 or jerryuscg into google, will get you most everything you ever wrote here including your profile page.If you look at the list of folks logged on at the bottom of the page you will often see the Google Bot collecting and indexing all this stuff. It's the black helicopters you really need to worry about :(

i use google to bring up a bunch of stuff from avsim as i dont like the search function here at avsim(sorry).Ill type somethin like (frre emma field avsim) works like a charm, especially with stuff from the library.
