Anyone have the Carenado Bonanza + the RXP Garmin units?

Featured Replies

I figured it out - I'd changed the two Carenado gauges that have "adf" in them to rxpFLN!ADF, but those must be serving some other purpose in the panel, I realized there's not even any ADF gauges there in the first place, just the RMI. Once I changed those, it loads fine now. Have to tweak it a bit but it looks really good so far!
Plus the sense of accomplishment when you've made your own panel. :(
I just noticed a folder called FOR CUSTOMIZATION inside the Bonanza's folder - it has models without 3D knobs in it, do those need to be used for this? Also, is it not going to be possible to replace the default autopilot with one of the S-TEC ones in the RXP packages due to the same issue with the 3D button geometry?
Yes, you can add the STEC autopilot if you like it better.. but the 150 that is in there is not bad either, after you've changed the HDG function..In BonF33\autopilot.xml change to:<Area Left="437" Top="142" Width="108" Height="86"> <Cursor Type="Hand"/> <Click Event="AP_PANEL_HEADING_HOLD"/> </Area>Here is the STEC mod:[Vcockpit04]gauge00=CarenadoG430!GNS430_nc1, 6,125,500,266//gauge01=BonF33!VS, 262,394,236,106gauge01=rxpFLN!ST360, 262,394,236,106//gauge02=BonF33!Autopilot, 2,70,262,56gauge02=rxpFLN!ST55X, 32,70,231,56gauge03=BonF33!DME_screen, 3,396,256,100gauge04=BonF33!Panel_annuanciator, 266,37,243,90//gauge04=rxpFLN!ST645, 264,37,247,90gauge05=BonF33!Toggle_GPS, 116,160,275,169gauge06=BonF33!Auto_taxi_onoff, 0,0,275,169gauge07=rxpFLN!FDAP,2,70,29,56You will also want a popup for the selector:[Window04]background_color=0,0,0position=6size_mm=200,90visible=0zorder=3ident=15532gauge00=rxpFLN!ST360,0,0,200,90And I assume you have figured out that you need to use oneof the Customization models to get rid of the 3d knobs. (III, IV)I simply have four Model folders (blank, II, III, IV) andthree panel folders (blank, XP, STEC).I assign them to individual Paints in the aircraft.cfg fileusing the model= and panel= statements.

Bert,Do you make any mods to the sizes or positioning of the FLT and FLN gauges or anything like that or is it all just straight replacement of the Carenado gauge name with the RXP equivalent?

I start by straight replacement and if something looks unbalanced, I correct usingNotepad, a couple of pixels at a time until it looks right..Here is my XP panel:[Vcockpit01]gauge00=rxpFLT!Altimeter, 4,347,166,166gauge01=rxpFLT!KI525, 345,3,163,163gauge02=rxpFLT!TurnCoordinator, 176,3,164,164gauge03=rxpFLT!VerticalSpeed, 173,344,164,164gauge04=BonF33!RadarAltitude, 6,174,165,165gauge05=rxpFLN!RMI, 5,4,165,166gauge06=rxpFLT!Airspeed, 344,169,164,165gauge07=rxpFLT!KI256, 341,337,167,171gauge08=BonF33!temp, 175,172,165,165//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit02]gauge15=Mooney_Bravo!Gear Light, 383,221,22,11
