May 30, 201016 yr How do you add camera definitions to an aircraft? I believe it's determined by the CameraDefinition.x sections in aircraft.cfg, but how do you define the paramater values in this section?Cheers. Harry Sung
May 31, 201016 yr Author Thanks Dietmar for your reply.I was thinking the GUID value was specific to the aircraft, except it only has to be unique.I get InitialPbh defines Pitch, Bank and Heading. The InitialXyz I figure refers to the datum points of the aircraft, but changing any of these values can change the camera view drastically ... so, I have left them alone.I now have engine views of the A330-200.Cheers. May 31, 201016 yr How do you add camera definitions to an aircraft? I believe it's determined by the CameraDefinition.x sections in aircraft.cfg, but how do you define the paramater values in this section?Cheers. What I do for the spot, right and left hand, front, and landing gear views is to find a plane of somewhat similar size with camera definitions. I then copy the camera definitions and paste them into the aircraft.cfg for the plane which you want the definitions. I then load the plane and look at all of the views. I write down what is wrong (like too close or far left or right, too close or far up or down, too close or far front or back, etc.). I minimize FSX and open the aircraft.cfg and adjust the x,y and z values (left/right, up/dn, and fore/aft) writing down what I changed and how much. I also adjust the p,b,h values (pitch, bank, and heading) values if needed. I change the GUID numbers using the GUID generator in the SDK, although I am not 100% sure this is necessary. I then reload the plane and use a keyboard setting of CTRL-F11 to reload the aircraft after making the changes. I look at all of the views to see what the results are. If they need more adjusting I make the changes, as needed and repeat the process. For internal views it is much harder. The biggest problem I have is to determine the size and angle adjustments required. My approach is a cut and try approach. I am sure that someone else has a much better method that works quicker and better. Regards, Bob.
June 1, 201016 yr Hi Bob,great approach you are proposing. Now I know at least how you did the camera configuration for me for the F-111. Thank's again.Dietmar

June 1, 201016 yr Another thing you might look into is using "HotKeySelect=" statements to assignyour CameraDefinitions to keys/controls for "instant access" to those views.See my post in this thread:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=65042 Paul
