I think from inside the plane itself unlike FSX you will not see the shadows of the aircraft on the ground. Only in exterior or spot views will you see the shadow of the plane itself. Only way i know of that will get an effect where you are sitting by a wing and seeing the shadow of the plane is if you use a utliity like DBS Walk and Fly.Craig

What aircratf model are you referring to?The answer is probably that you cannot do this - I think it has to be included in the model by the maker. The problem is that often in the VC view, the aircraft outer model is not visible (some parts like wings might be) and so if there was a shadow, it might be of just those bits of the plane... he alternative, having the whole model drawn, would likely be a real performance killer!(Edit: in FSX it's defferent I guess)

In FS9, the Project Tupolev Tu-154B2 has this - you can see the aircraft's shadow from the VC; probably some other aircrafts also have this feature but I just can't think of any right now. For FS9 this is a feature that has to be included in the model itself by its creators. Other than that there's nothing I know that can allow this.

This is not a native feature of FS9. I think FSX has this but I'm not sure. Speaking of add-ons like Carenado and Project Tupolev from what I've seen it's not the smooth flowing image on the ground that changes dimensions as your aircraft moves through the sky. What you have is a static splash image on the ground that doesn't contort to the changes the actual bird is making (turning, ascending/descending, etc) in the air. I hope this is a feature of FSX as it would be nice to look out the window of the VC during dusk on dawn and see your aircraft shadow as you climb out from the runway or come in for a landing.
