July 11, 201015 yr The first reviewer did say he only tested it in FS9, seems good enough reason.Regards.Ernie.I've seen the small note in the review however, the review header could confuse others since there's mentioned that it concerns a FSX and FS9 review.
June 4, 201115 yr The review mentioned poor FPS performance at the end of the review but I assumed this referred to the FSX version. So I made the mistake of buying the FS9 version and am extremely disappointed. The FPS hit from a supposedly "light" product is appalling. By uninstalling it and then reinstalling to "run as administrator" it improved but is still sub-standard. After a couple of days I took it off my hard drive - what a waste of money! I checked on their forum and there were sarcastic replies to the mention of poor FPS and no real solution so I didn't even bother asking. I'm amazed this product has been so well recieved by the community. I am not impressed in the least. Sorry to be so negative - that's not my normal style - but I really feel ripped off as this is by no means an inexpensive product!
June 4, 201115 yr So... you feel ripped off because you misunderstood the review? June 6, 201114 yr So... you feel ripped off because you misunderstood the review?Umm - no, that's not what I said. Not sure what gave you that impression. I posted my comments here as a "caveat emptor" for other people who might make the same mistake that I did. The review does mention poor FPS in the final summary box but gives no specific information in the text of the review nor does the review identify whether it was based on FSX or FS9. I assumed the former. I have no beef with the review in the least nor did I imply that. I "feel ripped off" because a product that should run well on FS9 on my system doesn't. There's no excuse for a "light" product to be such a frame hog and I thought that anyone who checks the review before buying, has a right to know that at least one user was highly disappointed with what could otherwise be a decent product.

It's indeed not stated what version this review is about, at which point it would have been probably best to contact the review's author or assume that the FPS hit counts for both FS versions. But, that's a mute point now. I do agree with you by the way. I find the FPS hit to be too considerable also. I do not feel ripped off, though, to be honest. What bums me out is that we still have no 757 that does it all right, for the reason I stopped using the QW757 is problems with the A/T that nobody seems to know how to fix and the fact that I always get a CTD around LatinVFR's MGGT which happens to be one of my favorite airports at the moment. The CS757 seems to work better, but it's FPS hit is also considerable and to be honest, there are some things in it that are plan sloppy, like the engine sounds playing in the exterior even when the engines are off. I'm hoping for the LDS757, but I just can't see it coming any time soon. I just hate spending good money on a product that I find after a few days is not worth using and that's the feeling I was trying to express. For me one of the huge benefits of the FS hobby is giving me back an opportunity to revisit many happy memories of a flying career as well as try out those things I never got to do in real life. But if the display is not smooth and fluid as in real life, then the whole illusion of flight is destroyed and it's just plain irritating. I was feeling pretty frustrated when I wrote my comments and probably expressed myself a bit too strongly.I shied away from the CS 757 for that same reason as you - I appreciate the many great products CS have given us over the years but it did sound from the comments I read that they just didn't get this one right. LevelD 757 - that would indeed be the dream answer but probably not for me as I doubt they will do an FS9 product at this stage of the game and I'm not going back to FSX. It's a shame that there isn't an excellent 757 - I think it's the most elegant of all the Boeing jets, and that's coming from a retired 737 driver! CheersIanps Have you tried aliasing the CS 757 sound to the QW 757 sound? Though I thought the flight deck sounds were a bit too loud, I did think that generally it was a good sound set...
