Autopilot disconnect

Featured Replies

I've noticed that some other folks have posted they also have had problems with the autopilot. My problem has been that during light the Nav with disconnect and the light will go off for no apparent reason. I've adjusted to eliminate sudden wind gusts to smooth things out but still having the same problem. Any suggestions on what I might do next would be appreciated. Thanks,CaptMacDon McDaniel

What mode are you flying? VLOC or LNAV? If LNAV, is this during a SID or STAR procedure? If the procedure is designed to take you to a certain point then VECTORs the AFCS will behave just as you describe.

Hi,It's right in the middle of a flight while in LNav. No sids or stars involved so not sure what's going on.

Check the deadzone of your stick/rudder. Spurious input from those will cancel the autopilot I think.
