June 24, 201015 yr Hi guysas u can see on my my topic title my frame rate drops down at night. why at night happen this and dont happen at day time? for example at new york airport (fsdreamteam) during day time with stormy wethear (rex) and woai set at 45% i get 25-28fps in virtual cockpit(pmdg md11) and at night i get 13-18. why? theres something i can do? with this situation i cant approuch in vc because look like a slow motion. i think during the night time the frame rate must increase because its most dark so no too much works for the cpu. am i wrong?thx in advancedroger

If so, that is causing a drain on your performance. You should turn them off if too severe! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

NYC is really the only place I have problems though.

While I can't be entirely certain, many of these sceneries use a mixed-bag of development approaches that include using the FSX SDK, the FS2004 SDK, the FS2002 SDK and, perhaps, beyond. So, you get a mixed-bag of performance as "legacy" techniques are supported in FSX. Moreover, FSDT has their own "magic" going on in the background that is certainly non-standard with respect to the SDK. Lastly, don't forget that NYC is one of the more brutal areas for scenery in FSX - there's just a lot to display and show there. June 25, 201015 yr Commercial Member Try turning off "Light bloom" - if it's on.Unfortunately this is a very expensive effect

June 25, 201015 yr the bloom is always OFF. what about your experience? u get lower frame rate at night? What you are seeing is not unusual. The night lights add alot of extra items to be drawn and the performance really drops. There is no fix for it as far as I know so its one of the many things we must just live with. Jim Wenham
June 25, 201015 yr Commercial Member Night lighting uses twice as many bitmaps. Daytime textures and nighttime textures are blended depending on ambient lighting. In the daylight, night textures are dropped. This is applicable to both scenery, and also advanced aircraft. Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
