June 28, 201015 yr For those wanting to add the CIVA INS to the Dreamfleet 727, do a search in the libraries for a package created by "meatwater". It contains an installer which adds the dual CIVA units to the a/c without you having to do any file editing. I think you need to have the CIVA installed in FS9 first though.Peter Peter Schluter
June 28, 201015 yr IMO the CLS Dc-10 is rather nice. Fair enough it isn't that much different to the Aerosim DC-10 in terms of functionality but the Aerosim DC-10 is a bit of a joke visually IMO. I get the impression they made the L-1011 (which is a fantastic aircraft) and decided to make the DC-10 and DC-8 as an afterthought. The dreamfleet 727 is one of the best aircraft for FS9, it's an absolute delight to hand fly especially. Very very well modelled. The captainsim doesn't come close. As an alternative I would try the freeware HJG 727 which comes with a dazzling option of liveries and the panels are excellent.Cheers,Dave ---------------------- Dave Bedford

I do agree the DC-10 and DC-8 appear as an afterthought and they had faired better if they had skipped one of these planes and concentrated on the other one. As it is, I still think the Aerosim DC-10 looks a lot better than the CLS DC-10, mostly because the CLS DC-10 has far inferior VC. The instrument panel looks sort of nice, but the rest of the VC is a nasty surprise. Aerosim has, in my opinion, done a far better job on that one. And from the outside? Well, I think they are both about the same, not much difference. The only problem of the Aerosim DC-10 is the lack of repaints. Not bad compared to the Aerosim but superior in systems which I like. So happy with the DF727, Aerosim L1011 and CLS DC10.CheersMiles
June 30, 201015 yr I own both the CS727 and DF727 and have to say hands down the DF727 is much better, the systems are very well modeled. The DF 727 is the main reason I have decided to stick with FS9, they did an awesome job with it. In addition to the Civa INS addon, Integrated Simavionics has an FMC addon that works really well, though it is a payware addon. It can be added to other aircraft as well, including the CS707.Matt

Being part of the beta team, and having thousands of hours in the real thing, I can express the great effort the whole DF gang went through to get that one 'right'. Considering FS's limitations at times, I just don't think they get any better than the DF727. I know while beta testing the 727, I drove Paul nuts telling him, "it still doesn't fly right"......The whole group really listens to its beta testers, espicially the ones who have real world experience, and that is one reason it made it so rewarding to work with that wonderful group. Other, perhaps than PMDG, I can't think of a greater group of individuals who really care what they produce . . . I'll fly that aircraft in FS till the wings fall off. <G>Best,Clay
June 30, 201015 yr I have to agree with Clay .I was also on the Beta team and took a lot of the photos that became the panel and Vc.I love everything about that package and am proud to have been able to help.the DF 727 is still my most flown FS acft and I just put a few hours on it in the last week.Stan Winke
July 1, 201015 yr Clay and Stan, Thank you very much for your input on the beta team, and also to the team at Dreamfleet. Hands down it has been my favorite aircraft in FS. I purchased a Piedmont 727 Operations manual, did many hours of "homework" and was really surprised at how close it performs to what was in Piedmonts manual. Too bad they are becoming a rare sight these days..take care,Matt
