Which Traffic Program Best Caters To My Needs?

Featured Replies

Hey guys... i was woundering if any of you would kindly help me select a traffic program. Before i start i would like to say i am currently in favour of UT2 but anyway... I would like a traffic program that can/hasThe current A380 aircraft and time tablesReal world aircraft and flights all accurateHighly detailed aircraft.... also featuring the special repaints or one of onesIf not 100% accurate to the above as well as other features i would like the ability to edit timetables with easeAlso ease of set-up, not initial but every time i start FSFrame rate friendly to a degree Thanks...

I'd guess that UT will do a better job at real world timetables - but as to the rest, My Traffic X 5.3 Pro is good. IT deliberately shirks real world timetables where the net result of those would be "boring" - and I heartily agree with that approach. So, you'll get the right liveries in the right parking, but you'll also get traffic, whether or not strictly speaking it ought to be tumbleweed - and since you're buying a traffic program, I'm all for that.Models are good, FPS is great, I use 30% and have plenty of traffic, and the timetables are customisable afaik, though I've not dabbled with that - I like the fact that it works, simply, ootb.Lots of people will be equally positive about UT, I'm sure. A search or two here will reveal some old (and not so old) debates between the "camps".

So in comparison is my traffic just more interesting?

I don't have it, so it would be wrong to be dogmatic - the claim made by MyTX is that they would sooner see your airport populated, with interesting traffic, than slavishly follow timetables. Not having both, I can't compare, but I've read elsewhere that the downside to "realworld" timetables is that you might find your airport empty. Now you may want that - personally I like to see stuff moving around.

I think you'll be happy with UT2 - most of the models are really nice, hardly any framerate hit at all for me either.

With the new scheduling system - weekly / weekend, it seems to work better if you set your UT2 and FSX configs to 100% traffic. You can always press ctrl+shift+F11 to decrease the traffic.jja

I have had My Traffic, Traffic X and now UTII which I prefer. My reasons being that even though I run UTII at 100% it doen't have much impact on perormance and you don't get unreaistic traffic levels at airports in respect of queing for takeoff and on approach as well as traffic parked at the gates. But that's my view for what its worth.Phil
