Finally a working POSKY PSS merge

Hi Nandan,Please be aware that B772 and B772ER has differences in:- Maximum Take Off Weight (MTOW)- Fuel Capacity- Engine thrust--> you can easily find the 777 specifications from wikipedia.orgAnd to make 777-200 merge works, you should also modify the .air file on the Thrust section. Because if not, the plane will have a difficulty to climb...This is caused by the original .air file from PSS is designed for 772LR and has different climb performance. If you merge 772LR or 773ER with PSS, it will be easier because the .air file is already there.PS. please also be aware that the fuel flow of 777 when cruising are about 6000 to 7000 kg/hour (both engines combined) those are my 2 cents. :)Regards.
Yo, I know that, if you read my very first post of this topic then you would see that the 777-200ER merge is different. You have to change weights etc, I've said that in the first post. Also, that list is just too see what engines the airlines use on their engines so you can modify the thrust accordingly for your 777-200 or 777-200ER. Also, I don't think you have to change the thrust in the air file, because I think the aircraft.cfg over rules the air file: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...8&hl=nandanAlso, if you want to use the virtual cockpit, try adding this to the end of the panel.cfg://--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit01]file=$vc_01.bmpBackground_color=0,0,0size_mm=1024,1024visible=0pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$vc_01gauge00=Boeing777-300!Beacon_Nav_Light_Switch, 861,466,163,102gauge01=Boeing777-300!Master_Caution, 883,909,117,112gauge02=Boeing777-300!Autostart, 862,376,80,91gauge03=Magnetic_Compass!Magnetic-Compass, 869,756,148,150gauge04=PSS-B777!ND_Floater, 464,28,369,387gauge05=PSS-B777!MFD_Floater, 465,519,372,381gauge06=PSS-B777!EICAS_Floater, 31,519,375,383gauge07=PSS-B777!PFD_Floater, 36,37,367,377gauge08=PSS-B777!TrimInd_VC, 899,14,81,352//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit02]file=$vc_02.bmpBackground_color=0,0,0size_mm=1024,1024visible=0pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$vc_02gauge00=Boeing777-300!Backup_Attitude, 441,848,174,174//gauge00=PSS-B777!STANDBY, 441,848,174,174gauge01=Boeing777-300!Clock, 619,854,170,168gauge02=Boeing777-300!Autopilot, 332,528,689,78gauge03=Boeing777-300!Rudder_Trim_Ind, 845,611,179,75gauge04=fs9gps!gps_500, 386,-1,637,527gauge05=Boeing777-300!Comm 1, 2,494,202,84gauge06=Boeing777-300!Comm 2, 2,583,200,83gauge07=Boeing777-300!Transponder, 1,841,200,76gauge08=Boeing777-300!Nav 1, 3,670,200,82gauge09=PSS-B777!AP_ALT_vc, 753,542,87,20gauge10=PSS-B777!AP_HDG_vc, 542,544,64,19gauge11=PSS-B777!AP_SPD_vc, 669,543,63,18gauge12=PSS-B777!AP_VS_vc, 858,545,68,14gauge13=PSS-B777!RadioAct_VC, 25,512,68,19gauge14=PSS-B777!RadioAct_VC, 23, 602 ,68,19gauge15=PSS-B777!RadioStby_VC, 113,513,66,18gauge16=PSS-B777!RadioStby_VC, 110,602,66,18gauge17=PSS-B777!XPDR_VC, 62,849,77,25//gauge18=PSS-B777!FMC, 0,0,323,512//[Vcockpit02]//file=$vc_02.bmp//Background_color=0,0,0//size_mm=1024,1024//visible=0//pixel_size=1024,1024//texture=$vc_02//gauge00=Boeing777-300!Backup_Attitude, 441,848,174,174//gauge00=PSS-B777!STANDBY, 410,625,235,620//gauge01=Boeing777-300!Clock, 619,854,170,168//gauge02=Boeing777-300!Autopilot, 332,528,689,78//gauge02=Boeing777-300!Rudder_Trim_Ind, 845,611,179,75//gauge03=fs9gps!gps_500, 386,-1,637,527//gauge04=Boeing777-300!Comm 1, 2,494,202,84//gauge05=Boeing777-300!Comm 2, 2,583,200,83//gauge06=Boeing777-300!Transponder, 1,841,200,76//gauge07=Boeing777-300!Nav 1, 3,670,200,82//gauge09=PSS-B777!AP_ALT_vc, 753,542,87,20//gauge10=PSS-B777!AP_HDG_vc, 542,544,64,19//gauge11=PSS-B777!AP_SPD_vc, 669,543,63,18//gauge12=PSS-B777!AP_VS_vc, 858,545,68,14//gauge12=PSS-B777!RadioAct_VC, 25,512,68,19//gauge13=PSS-B777!RadioAct_VC, 23, 602 ,68,19//gauge14=PSS-B777!RadioStby_VC, 113,513,66,18//gauge15=PSS-B777!RadioStby_VC, 110,602,66,18//gauge16=PSS-B777!XPDR_VC, 62,849,77,25//gauge17=PSS-B777!FMC,738,785,328,580//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit03]file=$vc_03.bmpBackground_color=0,0,0size_mm=1024,1024visible=0pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$vc_03gauge00=Pky_glassdirt!Pky_glassdirt, 0,0,1024,1024Tell me if it works, got it from someone, only briefly used it and saw the virtual cockpit. Hey Nandan, I just added the VC section you posted and I am now getting the MFD panels lighting up at night! So it musta been something I missed during a previous merge. Haven't done any flying though. Have about 20 different combination's of engines, textures and models to start adding and then testing. Thought you would like to know... thx for your investigative work here.Clutch

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

Haha, cheers, wasted alot of my holiday time doing the merge testing for the FS community as well as myself. Show friends this topic too so we see more 777s in fs2004! The link which shows the 777 operators, models, registration and engine types took a while to find. Good Ifound it though, found out my UAL 777-200 actually had PW4084 engines not PW4074, but the site may be wrong a bit. The POSKY SIA 777-200ER 9V-SRN (I think it is, correct me if i'm wrong) that you download from POSKY site, shows on the link that it is a 777-212 not 777-212ER http://www.triple7-world.info/777prod.htm. The site might be wrong in a few cases, haven't fully studied the list, as you can imagine. But yea, probably majority right anyways.Good to hear from ya. Just let me know how the merge goes when you have tested it (post results here).

Can you clarify... are you breaking out your aircraft into separate folders based on the engine? It looks like you must as you are editing the aircraft.cfg based on what engine is being used. I had them before in one folder switching the model and air file to fit appropriate planes and used one aircraft.cfg file for all, but this looks to take it to the next step and I need to separate that out.Clutch

Yea, I have separate folders for the different 777-200/200ERs since they can have different thrust ratings so thus changing the aircraft.cfg. Also the weights change so making separate folders for the different 777-200/200ERs would be the way to go.

You guys are doing all the hard work, trying, retrying, getting it close, getting it right - so thank you.But theres a lot of us who dont have the confidence or the understanding to mess with these files, so I

Oh, ok. Um...i'll see if I can. It's already in the first post on this topic. Sorry guys if it's too hard to follow. No merge can be perfect, sorry about that, we can only get it close enough to perfect. We have to do with what we got and this merge aint too bad. So if you follow the intructions on the first topic, it can work. Here are intructions for panel:Get the POSKY aircraft and install itFirst of all for the panel.1)Rename the POSKY Panel folder to "POSKY Panel" or back it up. You will need the contents of it soon.2)Copy the Panel folder from the PSSB77704 folder and paste it into the POSKY aircraft.3)Copy the Pky_util and Posky777 from the "POSKY Panel" folder into the newly copied PSS Panel folder.4)You should now have these inside the Panel folder-Pky_utilPosky777pss_varsmainpanelpedestal5)Copy this into the For other 777-200 variants just replace the [TurbineEngineData] from the POSKY 777-200 aircraft.cfg for correct thrust-ie for the RR and GE engines use the [TurbineEngineData] from the POSKY 777-200 aircraft.cfg that has RR engines or PW engines. Replace the [fltsim.0] with the one from the POSKY 777-200 so you can see the textures. This is a UAL 777-200 since I use UAL. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Aircraft.cfg 777-200ER:Use the 777-200 merge aircraft.cfg (the one above) and1)Replace:max_gross_weight = 545000empty_weight = 297300with:max_gross_weight = 656000empty_weight = 3045002)Replace the [fuel] section from the 777-200 merge with 777-200ER [fuel] section from the POSKY 777-200ER aircraft.cfg3)Replace the [TurbineEngineData] from the 777-200 merge with that from the POSKY 777-200ER aircraft.cfg. This will then give different thrust ratings for the different engines-ie the RR and GE engines. Or change the Static thrust in [turbine_engine_data] according to each engine. Find what engine your aircraft uses, search the thrust for that engine and replace the static_thrust= 74000 with the appropriate thrust for the engine. Use this site: http://www.triple7-world.info/777prod.htm. If you change thrust then make sure you know the 777-200/200ER variant. Eg, 74000 thrust 777-200 is the first variant with different weights presumingly, lower MTOW (max takeoff weight and empty weight). You can get weights from airliners.net, just convert to pounds on google then put into aircraft.cfg. Or you can use wikipedia, but wiki only shows you max engine and weights for each variant. I don't use it for the engines. It says 77000lbs thrust max for 777-200 when I found out that N775UA and some of United's 777-200s actually use PW4084 engines with 84000lbs etc. ================================================================================Now copy and paste the air file PSSB777LR-GE from the PSS-B772LR folder. IMPORTANT: You can rename the PSSB777LR-GE to the POSKY air file or just leave it as it is and in the [fltsim.XXX] section make the sim=PSSB777LR-GE. OTHERWISE THE AUTOTHROTTLE WON'T WORK! Make sure the "sim=" has the same name as the air file. Eg, if air file is named PSSB777LR-GE then sim= has to be "sim=PSSB777LR-GE". If air file is named for example..."Boeing 777-200" etc, then sim= has to be "sim=Boeing 777-200" in the [fltsim.X] section.

The reason I asked for an all-in help was that I understood that alterations had been made as this thread went on - and I wanted the final thing. You are either going to think me rude or stupid now, and Id rather you think me stupid - but which model does this apply to?You say "get the Posky model" but which one? And just the model, right? Thanks

Northridge,Don't think of yourself as stupid or rude. I believe Nandan is taking more or less an approach a simmer would already be somewhat familiar with the merge or components of making a merge. I too do not fully understand every step either, such as when he says copy this into the XXX.cfg file does that mean we delete everything in there first? Leave certain parts in? So I have been just following along when I have time and just experimenting following his lead. There is no complete step-by-step tutorial and to do so would take some time (any volunteers!?). So for now I would just try it as you go along and if things don't look right or go right maybe ask some questions. For example, Nandan, I just added more of your merge suggestions, switched out the air file for the PSS air file and it appears in my VC view my eyepoint is way off. Discovered I am way in front of the VC. I know your not really using the VC in yours but do you happen to know what section of what file controls the eyepoint view in the VC?thx,CLutch

Oops, sorry guys. Um...it's just that I don't have the time to fully do good instructions. When I say copy and paste into the XXX.cfg, that is referring to the deleting all the contents of the XXX.cfg and replacing it with mine. For the VC, have you used this, sorry I haven't added it into the panel.cfg in this thread. Add it in and see if it works. Add to bottom of panel.cfg.//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit01]file=$vc_01.bmpBackground_color=0,0,0size_mm=1024,1024visible=0pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$vc_01gauge00=Boeing777-300!Beacon_Nav_Light_Switch, 861,466,163,102gauge01=Boeing777-300!Master_Caution, 883,909,117,112gauge02=Boeing777-300!Autostart, 862,376,80,91gauge03=Magnetic_Compass!Magnetic-Compass, 869,756,148,150gauge04=PSS-B777!ND_Floater, 464,28,369,387gauge05=PSS-B777!MFD_Floater, 465,519,372,381gauge06=PSS-B777!EICAS_Floater, 31,519,375,383gauge07=PSS-B777!PFD_Floater, 36,37,367,377gauge08=PSS-B777!TrimInd_VC, 899,14,81,352//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit02]file=$vc_02.bmpBackground_color=0,0,0size_mm=1024,1024visible=0pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$vc_02gauge00=Boeing777-300!Backup_Attitude, 441,848,174,174//gauge00=PSS-B777!STANDBY, 441,848,174,174gauge01=Boeing777-300!Clock, 619,854,170,168gauge02=Boeing777-300!Autopilot, 332,528,689,78gauge03=Boeing777-300!Rudder_Trim_Ind, 845,611,179,75gauge04=fs9gps!gps_500, 386,-1,637,527gauge05=Boeing777-300!Comm 1, 2,494,202,84gauge06=Boeing777-300!Comm 2, 2,583,200,83gauge07=Boeing777-300!Transponder, 1,841,200,76gauge08=Boeing777-300!Nav 1, 3,670,200,82gauge09=PSS-B777!AP_ALT_vc, 753,542,87,20gauge10=PSS-B777!AP_HDG_vc, 542,544,64,19gauge11=PSS-B777!AP_SPD_vc, 669,543,63,18gauge12=PSS-B777!AP_VS_vc, 858,545,68,14gauge13=PSS-B777!RadioAct_VC, 25,512,68,19gauge14=PSS-B777!RadioAct_VC, 23, 602 ,68,19gauge15=PSS-B777!RadioStby_VC, 113,513,66,18gauge16=PSS-B777!RadioStby_VC, 110,602,66,18gauge17=PSS-B777!XPDR_VC, 62,849,77,25//gauge18=PSS-B777!FMC, 0,0,323,512//[Vcockpit02]//file=$vc_02.bmp//Background_color=0,0,0//size_mm=1024,1024//visible=0//pixel_size=1024,1024//texture=$vc_02//gauge00=Boeing777-300!Backup_Attitude, 441,848,174,174//gauge00=PSS-B777!STANDBY, 410,625,235,620//gauge01=Boeing777-300!Clock, 619,854,170,168//gauge02=Boeing777-300!Autopilot, 332,528,689,78//gauge02=Boeing777-300!Rudder_Trim_Ind, 845,611,179,75//gauge03=fs9gps!gps_500, 386,-1,637,527//gauge04=Boeing777-300!Comm 1, 2,494,202,84//gauge05=Boeing777-300!Comm 2, 2,583,200,83//gauge06=Boeing777-300!Transponder, 1,841,200,76//gauge07=Boeing777-300!Nav 1, 3,670,200,82//gauge09=PSS-B777!AP_ALT_vc, 753,542,87,20//gauge10=PSS-B777!AP_HDG_vc, 542,544,64,19//gauge11=PSS-B777!AP_SPD_vc, 669,543,63,18//gauge12=PSS-B777!AP_VS_vc, 858,545,68,14//gauge12=PSS-B777!RadioAct_VC, 25,512,68,19//gauge13=PSS-B777!RadioAct_VC, 23, 602 ,68,19//gauge14=PSS-B777!RadioStby_VC, 113,513,66,18//gauge15=PSS-B777!RadioStby_VC, 110,602,66,18//gauge16=PSS-B777!XPDR_VC, 62,849,77,25//gauge17=PSS-B777!FMC,738,785,328,580//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit03]file=$vc_03.bmpBackground_color=0,0,0size_mm=1024,1024visible=0pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$vc_03gauge00=Pky_glassdirt!Pky_glassdirt, 0,0,1024,1024============================================================================Should I just put the merge on avsim or something so you guys just have to copy and paste into your aircraft? I'll think about it.When I say install the POSKY plane, I mean the whole package. Ie when you scroll down you see full packages for the different airlines on POSKY site. Install these once you download them then follow this merge.

Hey there, thanks for a great merge!Does anyone have the pss777 sideviews that were available in the user edits section of pss site back then? i've been looking everywhere for them, avsim and the rest of the net and cannot find any valid link!!I do not use the vc and i'm dying for those sideviews, if anyone is willing to share it would make my day.CheersMath

What were the sideviews? Were they veiws so when you look out the side, it shows the cockpit for that section? Like if you press right on the views on your joystick etc it shows the window and copilot's seat on the right and if you view the left it shows the left window and the cockpit to the left? Get what I mean?? No, I don't know about them sorry...People that wanna use the VC, delete my wingviews and add the VC section into the panel.cfg, it should work I think. You won't be way ahead of the VC as someone stated. I think this solves that problem. And also, I think the POSKY model has to have the VC built into it-correct me if i'm wrong? If this is true, then get the VC model if you want VC.

Hey Nandan, it was me who said I was way ahead in the VC. I will try removing the wingviews as you suggest to help correct that.Clutch

Hi all!!thanks for this great merge instructions!Unfortunately for me didn't work... i have checked 3..4 times all and i dont get what i am doing wrong, but when i load the merged aircraft i dont see plane textures, its like a big gray thing over the platform :Sit doesn't make any sense as i haven't even touched textures folder... im using FS2004 over Win7, a POSKY American repaint with model OS772V2_TRENT800_VCany clue?cheers,Dan
