greg:you can't make FS direct you to the correct gate. the 'AFCAD' and aircraft.cfg codes for parking work only for AI aircraft.if you search the forum you can find some discussion, very old now, on how to make a custom parking space for only user planes. involves using AFCAD to set a specific parking space diameter and then adjusting the user aircraft.cfg and/or (??) 'air file' to match the 'user parking space diameter'. (never done it myself ... as i never follow FS ATC's taxi commands).--

Two things are required:Assuming EIN is the code you wish to use:1. The parking space must be of sufficient size for the aircraft and the parking space must be designated as a "gate" and have the correct code (EIN).2. The aircraft in question must have these two lines in the aircraft.cfg file for every variation which might be used:atc_parking_types=GATEatc_parking_codes=EINIf those conditions are met, ATC "should" direct the AI aircraft properly - assuming one or more gates are not currently in use.Keep in mind that ATC is not "perfect", but does work properly most of the time.Hope that helps.EDIT ADDED: Sorry, missed the fact that you were wanting to know about User aircraft - not AI.

Assume you're talking about the aircraft you're flying?AES allows you to select the slot the Follow Me car leads you to.If you cleverly remove the AI parking spot first, (or as last resort resize as scoob suggests) there's every chance it will be there for you. This is a little clumsy I know, but I haven't heard of a better way.

You can set up your User aircraft so ATC will direct you to the correct (reserved) gate. This Illustrated Tutorial will show you exactly how it is done:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...amp;DLID=125172It can also be done in FSX. There is a separate Tutorial for that as the process is slightly different.Hope that helps.

OK Opa, after reading your tutorial, I have a question. Would it be possible to do that with different aircraft at the same airport? Say I want 2 commercial spots and 2 GA spots, each for different aircraft, would it be possible as long as they are all different in size compared to other aircraft both user and AI?

Yes it is -After writing the tutorial I did a good deal more experimenting. I now have 4 or 5 "reserved spots" for several different aircraft at each of several different airports in Texas where I fly most often.

Thanks, now to alter my user aircraft (I have something like 50+ different combinations of PMDGs 737) so I can have a guarenteed parking spot at some of my favorite airports. I am not much to worried about most of the GA aircraft I have, but would like the planes to park at the proper space I have assigned to said aircraft (seems that I might need multiple AFCAD files for some airports).

The key thing to remember when seting up a "tweaked" GA aircraft is to make the reserved spot a "gate" even though in reality it is a ramp somewhere. Then be sure to request "taxi to gates" from ATC.It has been awhile since I have done any of this but feel free to e-mail me if you have questions or need assistance.
