If you've got an iPhone or an iPad, have a look at PlaneFinder (PlaneFinder HD for iPad).Incredible with 3G just to be able to ID any airliner you see overhead. In Europe, the vast majority are ADS-B equipped, not sure how things are in the US though.

Cool. What about registration and history websites, eg a website where I can type in A6-EBA and find the planes history

That's a pretty cool site, especially for the map. However there doesn't seem to be as many aircraft as there should be. Not a one anywhere near new england. Anywho, I bookmarked it for the zoomable map since it shows cities and roads pretty clearly. Oh and I like the way they did the terrain relief also.
