Help with Mute

Featured Replies

I just DL the new 1.1 version, this is my first time trying to set up the mute button with my CH yoke. I went into the cfg manager and selected button 10, that is the button on my yoke that I wanted to use, it did not work, I changed the assignment to LControl and was going to use fsuipc to assign that keybored command to my yoke, however in fsuipc you can not use that command. So I decided to switch the command to the Backspace, but I cannot, no matter what it will not save it the cfg manager its stuck on LControl, I have restarted my PC several times but its still stuck, is there any file I can get to that manually get to, so can delete it.

Hey Bryan like I said it was stuck with that command LControl and I couldn't change it to anything else, I figured why don't I just reinstall. It only takes a couple seconds, anyways everything is just peachy now, maby just a botched install. I use the - key in the cfg manager then program that key to a button on my yoke with fsuipc, its kind of cool the way I have it set up, I use fsinn to fly on Vatsim the same button I use to mute Fs2crew is the PTT button to talk to ATC, so when I have to say something I press that one button it mutes fs2crew and I say my bit to the online atc.

Hans,Thanks for sharing.Cheers,

Some more data having found a similar problem - perhaps details of my workaround might help others (using FSX with Win7 64). Having completed several flights without a hitch (a very impressive programme), I tried to set up as above for on-line flying (I use Wide FS with SB on a networked computer). However, I found initially that the only key that would activate soft mute is L Control which, of course cannot be mapped by FSUIPC. None of my X52 buttons could be mapped in the cfg manager and several of the keys appear to save correctly to the cfg file but would not activate the soft mute (eg the "-" key) . In the end I discovered the small Joker programme from the J41 forum and after first re-installing FS2Crew and then testing as much as possible, I found that at least L Control; Shift Left; Tab and Home would activate soft mute. The Joker programme very effective and allowed me to map the soft mute (I use Tab) whilst retaining the original fsuipc mapping for my SquawkBox PTT on the same button.FWIWJohn R
