Addon to handle radio communications?

Featured Replies

I use the default FSX ATC with editvoicepack and was curious if there is an add-on out there that handles radio correspondence automatically. The reason I am asking is because the other day I was cleared for visual approach and was trying to focus on the approach itself but the ATC box kept popping up wanting me to respond to the transmissions, this detracted me from the actual approach. Any recommendations?

Hi,all you need is PFE (ProFlightEmulator) :PFE Website

PFE is an impressive software, but there is too much work involved in getting a flightplan set up. It also doesn't have any interface like the default FSX ATC. I would rather stick with the default ATC with editvoicepack.

Radar Contact. You can set it up to have your co-pilot handle all radio frequency changes. IIRC. I always respond to the transmissions myself using voice recognition software, but do have it set-up where the frequency will change after hand-off when things get a bit busy on an approach.

Multi Crew Experience. Works with Radar Contact or default ATC.

After readingWhy is it taking me hours to figure out how to get Pro Flight Emulator working? and now seeing, that the thread starter has given up on it and goes for default ATC again, I wouldn't invest much effort to really offer a solution.Maybe a pure AP, handling plane and communications would help.Might sound like pure offense to you, but I think that some guys really need to help themselves before they cry out loud, because whatever solution you will offer, it all requires a manual to read and thats not really what he's up to, I think. We all know, that default ATC just requires a key press to "answer" them. If someone gets annoyed or distracted by this requirement in the final approach phase I would suggest disabling ATC, earn more confidence in those critical phases of flight (which is no shame) and then return to the combination of flying and (key press) communicating. Another addon, handling the comms for you, would have been PFE or Radar Contact, but ... read for yourself.

CoolP,The only person here that is crying out loud is you.I have used PFE, and while the software has many great features (voices and accents,) there is simply too much work involved in setting up a flight plan and the interface that comes with PFE uses the entire screen (and I only use one monitor.) I am not sure why you sound so butt hurt, perhaps you have a vested interest in PFE? I don't know, I will not speculate. There are different preferences out there for which ATC software to use. I have chosen mine. I am however curious if there is a way to have all radios handled without having to use RC or PFE. I will look into MCE.
