September 16, 201015 yr Marketing hype..........I don't agree with. The latest from Austin Meyer (creator of X-Plane). I picked this up from the X-Pilot website. I've emphasized in bold. And BTW, it's not a Carenado switch over. Just an addition. What I do agree with Austin, is his contribution to abandoned animal efforts..."OK next order of business: We are now starting to see the big commercial add-on developers from MSFS switching over to X-Plane.The most recent switchover is Carenado, with a really nice little Mooney.See it here:http://www.carenado.com/ecommerce/buscador.php3?id_producto=86This plane has the detail in physical appearance that people are used to getting with the high-end planes for Microsoft, but now that it has been made for X-Plane, we continue the great visual detail, but now get it with the X-Plane flight-model… a HUGE step up. Any MSFS user that has ever flown a real airplane and then flies a nice add-on plane in MSFS, and then tries X-Plane to see the difference in flight-quality… well… any pilot gets it." L.Adamson
September 16, 201015 yr ...and now we will now have direct compares of Carenado products on fsx in compare with the same products on Xplane.Should get interesting and all good for the consumer...:(Having made a good flightmodel in FS doesn't mean they will be ableto make a good one in XP which is a totally different ballgame. If it sucks, it can just as well mean they have no clue about what they aredoing. Should be easy to tell by analyzing the airfoils and acf though..M Morten Melhuus

Carenado is not a "switchover" at all. They are simply seeking to exploit both platforms in an effort to maximize their revenue stream. That's called "smart business!" Fr. September 16, 201015 yr Very disingenuous...Kinda explains this entire thread when claims like that are made that simply are not true. It's been Austin's marketing hype..........that tends to ignite some of these flame wars all along. I can't really blame him, as it's apparently "very" good for business. Yet I see through it all, just as I've done for years and years. While the Carenado statement is misleading, the same applies to the "generalizing" of flight models. But non-pilots will eat those statements up, as though it's fact.L.Adamson
