August 22, 201015 yr While attempting re-install FS9 an error message appears at 62% which says " Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 encountered a disk error while writing to the file c:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\ Scenery\ Name\Tex\_ _ _\ LDM_ dc\_capitalbuilding.bmp. Make sure your hard disk is not full, and the file is not in use.I have plenty of free space and does anyone have ideas what could be the problem?
August 22, 201015 yr Hello,I suppose this error happend with the CD N°4So I (you) can assume you have a physical problem on your CD N°4 or another.Try first to clean carefully the CDAfter you can also try to copy paste the entire CD in a folder on your HD ..If not able .. the conclusion is your CD is out of use (scratches .. etc ..)Maybe a bad news but don't shoot the messenger :( :( Regards.Gus.

Hi,It means exactly what it says..........you have a physical error on the disc (Dirt, Grease or most likely a Scratch)Tough luck mateDave:smile:
September 18, 201015 yr Hi guysI'm not so sure about this. That kind of error is indicative of not being able to write to the disk. When you can't read, you'll get a "can't read source file" kind of message. It doesn't suggest that there's anything wrong with the CD.I'd try rebooting and see what happens, and make sure you have permission to write files to that location (might be some permissions problems). If you want to check the CD anyway, maybe try copying all the files from it manually onto the harddrive and see if you get any errors.
