August 25, 201015 yr As one would expect, the announcement of Flight has caused quite a stir. It is fun to watch the wishing and guessing and all the excitement. Already a few people are writting off the program and we don't yet even know what it is. We already have many trying to tell Microsoft how to run their business. We as a community have to realize that no matter how good our ideas might be, we will in the end have very little to say about the final product. In fact I would guess that the product to be released is already pretty much in concrete. What I would hope is that the Mod's of AVSIM will make an effort to see that we don't get into the habit of bashing and name calling towards Microsoft. I have always wondered if all the complaining and neg. comments about FSX might not have contributed to an early demise of ACES. I like free exchange of opinions and ideas as much as anyone but I do hope that Tom and the MODS do come out with some rules on this subject of bashing. I see no need for Microsoft, a really excited user comments and the like here. It is great to chat about the good things and the bad things and can be very useful to all. If you have a problem with the business model then email them. I hope that the MODS are willing to hit the "bye bye" button anyone just venting about Bill Gates and Company. As always YMMV by a bunch! Your opinions please!! Your opinions please!!FSX sales were strong .. no way less than 1% of the buying customers (FS enthusiasts) changed MS mind about ACES .. no way. My business guess is that Microsoft was downsizing, just like the rest of US business', in recent times. This is what happened to ACES>

August 28, 201015 yr Q: Too hard on MS?My A: Yeah, I think so. Getting a scare of losing it has produced an effect where I'd rather see the franchise alive than not - I am more grateful for it now. I think will be gamier, but if we still have an SDK and a healthy environment for add-ons, I don't care what they add for gamey-ness.
