I created a flight plan from KIND to KORD. Kind rwy 23L, SID Indy2, Transition MZZ, Star Royko 3, Rwy 10, VNAV enter crossing altitudes. I saved flight plan and it created KINDKORD_J41.RTE. When I went to the FMS and press fpl I get KINDKORD 1. So far so good. Next time I want to add saved fpl for KIND Rwy 23R, SID Indy2, Transition MZZ, Star Royko 3, Rwy 10. I saved flight plan and saved it as KINDKORD_J41.RTE also in the PMDG Flightplans. When I went to the FMS and press fpl I get KINDKORD 1 and KINDKORD 4, one is departure Rwy 23L and 1 is Rwy 23R. So far as I wanted. Then I started to realize that the fpl that I really wanted was to just have the basic fpl as saved was departure and the destination, with Star, without assigning the departure or arrival runway until I new what they were actually going to be. I went to PMDG flightplans and Deleted KINDKORD_J41.RTE. When I go back to the FMS in the flight plans is KINDKORD 1 even though I deleted the KINDKORD_J41.RTE from the saved PMDG Flightplans folder. I tried using the erase to no avail. How do I erase this saved flight plan from the FMS so I can start over clean? So when I start from KIND there are no saved fpl's available to choose from?Thanks,Lynn Fisher

I haven't checked yet but some of my plans need to be deleted also. I'm guessing that you may need to delete them from your FSX plan folder in My Documents. I will find out tomorrow when I try to "clean house".

When you save plans, it is best to save them without any departure or arrival information - simply the plan from point A to B. You can then load the plan and add the departure or arrival afterwards. This makes the plan more widely applicable and doesn't require multiple plans for the same pair. This is how it is most often done with saved company routes.Kyle
