Quick translation help with russian website?

Featured Replies

I want to download from http://www.avsim.su/f/fs2004-originalnie…I used google translate and found the download button, but when i click it the page just reloads. If someone speaks russian can you see if there are any error messages in russian, or the website is just buggy? The download is down the page called Ту-95МС и Ту-142М

That website has no affiliation to AVSIM, it is just some site using the AVSIM name without consent. The web is filled with these fake "AVSIM" sites but the only real one is this one here at AVSIM.net.

Well, you can see it like that... or not.I won't even answer to that.unobservant63, it works for me. Without translating it to english, you can download it by pressing the blue link "Скачать" (bottom right corner of the file-box)If the download then doesn't start, you have to choose between HTTP or torrent download. The easiest is to click on "HTTP (EU)" in the green box on top of the file.Hope it helps!

That site is available in English. You can switch between languages/sites at the top right of any page. This is the English home page address: http://www.avsimrus.com/ as opposed to http://www.avsim.su/ for Russian. But as mentioned above, you have to click on the other links to actually download, not on the download link itself. Finally, I wonder if "AVSIM" is indeed a protected trademark or whatnot.

These guys are crooks, plain and simple, it wouldn't matter if there was a trademark or not they would find a way around it.One word of advice, do not download anything from them or you'll compromise your computer, there is no telling what is contained within the shared files.

I've downloaded tones of great sceneries, repaints and traffic files from avsim.su, not available anywhere else, and NEVER had ANY trouble.

Robert, is that an objective opinion you're sharing or is there a little more to it? Never mind the discussion about the name, although it is an interesting one, calling them crooks goes a little far.It is a well known, not infamous, site that people send you to all the time for Russian repaints, flightplans, etc... Some people upload there and here. I must say, I have never had a problem with them or any of the files I have downloaded there. It complements the Avsim Library rather nicely.

Mike...

Well, Robert... Have you had any problem with Avsim.su?As stated above, there are a lot of great files over there, whithout any problem at all. I've literally downloaded tons of files there, and have NEVER had ANY problem with them.

Woooh, is that some kind of old 'cold war' reflex or sheer stupidity from your side?Beware people, these guys are Russians, so they MUST be evil KGB spies or mafia trying to lure you into some kind of trap! lol!avsim.su has been around almost as long as its US namesake, and is home to thousands of perfectly harmless, high quality, free files covering sceneries, aircraft and AI from Russia and CIS countries that you would not find anywhere else, simply because the authors do not speak english and would feel as lost trying to find their way around avsim as those of you who can't read Russian might feel trying to upload your stuff over there.

I made a comment regarding a trademark, plain and simple, read my post again right above as our new friend fc7 has copied for you all to see. I agree there are numerous files made available by individuals and freeware groups, from whom I am not sure if consent to host the files was given. They are there none the less for anyone to download.Suffice as to say my friend fc7 is rather new here only having registered moments before posting his rhetoric and does not know me from atom. I consider this site my home and I take offence at a person, or person's riding on the coattails of someone's hard work. Call it a personal thing, that is why I got out of running a business.Regards,Robert
