Running REX and GEX Europe, my only two relevant addons, and I'm receiving ~15 FPS on average at Heathrow in stormy weather with the default King Air.Most settings on max, autogen is on Dense. I am no expert on fsx, but my system gets about( +/- 6 to 8 fps compared to yours) the same fps as yours in those same condtions. To be honest, thats why I don't use fsx. Maybe, some fsx expert can help you out. Have you tried the tweaks yet? A lot of this is important stuff:http://www.simforums.com/forums/setting-up-fsx-and-how-to-tune-it_topic29041.htmlRight off the bat some things to check:1) Disable bloom2) set water to no higher than 2x low3) aI traffic to 50%4) autogen very dense or dense in big cities5) turn off self shadowingAnd the difference between an i7 980 @ 3.9GHz and an AMD hexacore cpu at 3.6GHz is a fairly large difference. EGLL isn't the most fps friendly place in the FSX universe. Follow the tweak guide, you'll find a happy medium. The ATI card should be fine but we've found FSX is happiest with nvidia cards....

ATI cards benefit a lot from the shader modification as they chokeon clouds and water with the default shaders. I have a radeon456v and went from stutters and 5-8 fps in the situation you describe to 20-25 fps.

Platon,From what I have read the key for good performance is one really needs to be running at least at 4GHz (and of course the tweaks mentioned for clouds, etc.). Please keep us posted on your results as I am planning on the the AMD Phenom 6-core 1090T and the ATI 5870 card.

Reporting back. Just did a fresh install of windows 7 64 bit, and re-installed my FSX. All I tweaked this time was buffer pools and a few other minor things from the guide previously mentioned. I went into FSX and changed nothing but the resolution, and framerate lock. Everything else on ultra high. Framrate locked at 30, @ EGLL Fair Weather FPS is between 20-30 in a stock aircraft.I am certain I could get better FPS than this if I continued to tweak it, however I really can't be bothered (for now) to do so. The FPS I am getting with these minor tweaks is well playable.Thanks for the help, guys.
