September 12, 201015 yr Does anyone know of a replacement for my beloved FSHotSFX (one of the best addons for FS ever, if woefully under-supported by the developer). When I get a new PC it will run Win7 64-bit and FSHotSFX will not run under Win7, so all my reverser noises etc. for FS traffic will be lost. Almost worth having XP 64-bit instead. So if anyone knows how to make the loss less painful, I'd be grateful. There are various AI sounds in the AVSIM library of course, but will any of them wortk at all like FSHotSFX?Martin :( Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
September 12, 201015 yr Unfortunately the AI sounds for download won't do the trick. FS Hot FX used FSUIPC to determine the position of other aircraft and play the sound accordingly. Fabulous idea but I never bought the full version due to concerns over support, but I can well imagine that it would be very missing if you got used to it.

That may allow it to make the edits it needs to on your aircraft files.Of course you also will need to have FSUIPC installed also.I love it too - on my FS2004, XP setup - so can feel your pain if it really will not run under Win 7. EDIT ADDED:When you get your new Win 7 machine, spend some time reviewing the dedicated Win 7 forum here BEFORE you install anything. This thread (amongst others) may be useful:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/281410-installing-fs2004-andor-fsx-in-win-7-64-bit/page__p__1746490#entry1746490You will find many things (procedures) are quite different in Win 7 and there will be a 'learning curve" for sure!
September 12, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the replies. David, I did ask specifically about FSHotSFX:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/295458-fshotsfx/page__p__1826294__hl__fshotsfx__fromsearch__1#entry1826294seems it won't work, but I can always try. (I have the unregistered version of FSUIPC BTW - I don't see that the registered version would help here). I will SO, SO miss it - airports will seem very quiet. I have even written to Aerosoft and Flight1 to see if they would produce something similar (any other ideas of developers to approach?), but I'm not holding my breath! I have kept a copy of your 'Installing FS in Win7" thread - thanks for the heads up.Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
September 12, 201015 yr David,I was one of those that tried everything to get FSHotSFX to work in Windows 7 to no avail. I tried almost every trick in the book and nothing worked. If anyone else can get it to work, then they deserve massive kudos. Otherwise Windows 7 users are sadly out of luck with FSHotSFX.
September 13, 201015 yr Author Well, some good news. I had a reply from Mathijs at Aerosoft, saying he knows of FSHotSFX and that he has already planned to issue something similar next year. Keep your eyes on Aerosoft then..Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
