September 13, 201015 yr Can anyone tell me how I can set up FSX so I return to a cold start when I log on again to fly? I am stumped on how to do it. Or is it even possible? . I fly he Pilatus PC-12 and turn off all systems. I save the flight and make it my default flight. When I return to FSX the engine is off but all other systems are "on"'. What I'd like to do it return to the flight and then be able to restart all systems. I have read that other simmers do this but I can't seem to learn how. Am I missing something? Can anyone advise? Thanks.
September 13, 201015 yr Open fsx\Flights\other\FLTSIM.FTL with a text editor, set AvionicsSwitch=falseThrottleLeverPct=0.0.000000PropellerLeverPct=0.0.000000MixtureLeverPct=0.0.000000Pct Engine RPM=0.0.000000Save.That should give you a very close to cold and dark setup for the default flight.

September 13, 201015 yr I have never flown the PC-12 but this is how I set things up for a C&D default flight for all my payware aircraft: Open FSX and click on "fly Now" for that silly hang glider and hit pause as soon as the flight opens. Open the menu bar and click Select Aircraft and select the basic Cessna 172 (Blue/white with analog panel) and select that aircraft. Still with the flight paused, go to the airport of your choice for your default Pilatus flight--still with the C-172 selected. Position the 172 where you want the Pilatus to be parked. Unpause the flight and shut down the 172 as you wish, avionics off, lights off as desired, fuel quantity set as you prefer (I keep it set at 20% so I have to fuel up before each flight), date & time etc. Only after making the settings using the 172 do I select the payware model of my choice (the PC-12 for you) and save the flight after giving it some readily identifiable name. Works for me, every time. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
September 13, 201015 yr take the C172 or the King Air default aircraft. Turn them C&D and then save that aircraft/situation to your default. This should have your PC-12 be C&D when you switch to it from the default.

Perhaps the "load the aircraft from the default flight trick" wasn't used initially. Perhaps a re-install would be a good idea. September 14, 201015 yr Just to clarify my post (#6 I believe it is) above ---When I referred to the following:"Look for BatterySwitch=True (or False) and AvionicsSwitch=True (or False)"True means it is ON and False means it is OFF. The above refers to the "state" of the switch, not to whether or not you actually have such switches.
September 14, 201015 yr The PC-12 is one of my favorites... but I set a C&D with the default airplane because I've always heard it's the best. Load up the default C172 and switch off the battery. Go up to the menu and save it checking the box save as default. Should be good to go for the future in any airplane.
September 14, 201015 yr Sorry -- Not up on forum protocol. I slved the problem by shutting down the default Cessna, saving it, then switching airplanes to the PC-12. Once again, thanks to you all for the advice.
