October 3, 201015 yr Ah, well, I use TrackIR for moving the view around, which mostly made F1view superfluous, but if you haven't got TrackIR things are a bit trickier. I think you'd have to make use of the FS default commands for moving the view around, maybe tie them to a spare hat switch if you have a HOTAS?If you haven't got TrackIR and can spare the money I thoroughly recommend it - it makes a huge difference in FS and other genres too.
October 3, 201015 yr You may have to buy active camera then go to this post to make things work.Try it out at Seattle first so it will be free. There is a link in post 4 about z-order removal.http://www.flythemaddog.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7932&hl=f1viewThere is a link in post 4 about z-order removal.JimCYWG
October 5, 201015 yr Every time I switch to Ctrl-S view with the Maddog every single texture is blurred when I switch back to normal view. It does tend to sort itself out after a few minutes again.Exactly. I've pinned this issue to three texture files in the maddog. They are standard textures so they are present in every repaint. Under certain situations like this these files can blur out ALL textures loaded in your FS9 world. JasonFAA CPL SEL MEL IR CFI-I MEI AGI

I wonder if they're missing something, like the Alpha channels from the VC maybe?Cheers,Mark

I will list them here when I get home. I can't remember which ones off hand. JasonFAA CPL SEL MEL IR CFI-I MEI AGI
October 6, 201015 yr Thanks Jason, I appreciate the help - that's been an annoying little detail for me. It's a shame the developer doesn't seem to give time to sorting things like this out anymore.

October 10, 201015 yr The trouble makers areLeoMD82_glass_T.bmpLeoMD82_static_T.bmpLeoMD82_white_T.bmpThanks for this tip. I'd like to express a warm thanks to all of you for your support, ideas, and for sharing your knowledge. Thanks to your advice I'm now able to finally fly the Maddog using the VC. But there were a number of things that needed changing:- convert to dxt3 to add alpha-channel- remove fs1view to be able to rotate the knobs- add a 30gb switch to avoid OOMs- change fs9.exe to enable the switchWith these things done, the Maddog (2008) is truly a marvel. I've just started to fly with it around the world. My first lag took me from LFPG (everything on 100% with heavy AI) to EGLL. Both airports are from Aerosoft. That was a really hard test on the system with the new 30gb switch. And it worked, no OOM, no lost textures. What a welcome change!!! At the moment, I'm in Seattle. The Maddog is so much fun and so smooth to fly.Too bad that LAGO doesn't seem to care and try to include these tips in their product. It was sad to see that this marvel add-on was rather useless right out of the box.Chris
