October 8, 201015 yr Hi allI'm about to buy a new i7 PC. Is there really any benefit to using graphics cards in SLi mode for FSX ...or is it all just hype ?CheersEric

October 9, 201015 yr Oh it works all right. In fact it's brilliant if the game supports it. The problem is FSX doesn't support SLI/crossfire. If anything, it rejects it and performance can decrease with it. However there are a few tweaks out there, such as the nHancer one posted earlier. If you do end up with a crossfire/sli system, research these tweaks. They get FSX to respond well with it and can have some significant performance increase.
October 12, 201015 yr Yeah. I actually got a little more than expected at the end so I'm happy. Just a small 1 year loan to take out, and we are in business.
October 14, 201015 yr Hi allI'm about to buy a new i7 PC. Is there really any benefit to using graphics cards in SLi mode for FSX ...or is it all just hype ?CheersEricLook at my specs. The answer is YES and NO. If you don't like to tweak, then don't do it.There is a benefit to using an SLI set-up with FSX. I have 2 GTX 480s and I'm happy with the benefits. MSFS

October 15, 201015 yr I see a benefit when flying in major airports, in major cities like NYC, and with poor weather. Using BP=0 and unlimited FPS is where SLI comes in handy. I don't even need the fps limiter anymore.BP=0 will give you an added performance boost, but it can cause spikes and/or flashes when using HQ settings (8xs) and extremely dense AG with unlocked fps. This has been talked about before and so has the benefits of using a Raid0 configuration. SSDs should put the debate to rest. MSFS

October 15, 201015 yr SSD drives are so fast you don't need RAID0. That's what I meant. As for benchmarking, the only ones I rely on is my own eyes. MSFS
October 16, 201015 yr As for benchmarking, the only ones I rely on is my own eyes. Ok,. that explains it.Thanks.
