Although much of the model will be very similar to the BBJ, as it should be, you cannot add the stretch in fuselage length using the textures alone. This has to be done by modifying the actual model. The same applies to the -300/400/500 series. Yes the textures look very similar, but there will be differences in the way they are mapped on the model for each series. TomAFG.

LNAV still has some minor missbehaviour. thats no secret. SIDS/STARS requires are incomplete. i am not saying that i cannot live with it, i am clever enough to know that a 737-700 loaded full of fuel @FL340 will make it from LSZH to LEPA without problem. although of course the FMC says "insufficent fuel" :Dand you are smart enough to read PMDG forum, so read there what you claim to be 99% which i would say 75%.cheersMartin

MartinTo try and change this thread into a 'PMDG panel percentage-working' discussion and deflect from the original theme is, in my opinion, irrelevant here. What Ashleigh is referring to is the ongoing policy of Ariane to charge over and over again, at full price, for what are essentially rehashes of previous works with a couple of tweaks here and there. These aren't 'All New' planes as advertised at all. They're upgrades and repaints and I believe their price should reflect this. And you have to pay the same full price for each livery. That's extortion (IMO)!Bear in mind what you get for just under $40 TOTAL from PMDG, and for FREE from FFX, and then talk about what Ariane are charging for an extra metre of fuselage and another opening door etc........And 'Virtual cockpit concept' (whatever that means), and 'NG sound set' - I can't wait to see the price tags for these!!!! (Which are all included in the PMDG package for NO EXTRA COST, BTW).That said, I DO admire your loyalty to the man!Fly safe!Toni.

Tom, Blame for what I dont know, however as stated the PMDG offering represents excellent value for money when compared against anything of Mr.Tishma's, this simply in terms of being a COMPLETE product. Consider also the PMDG product will be expanded not at astronomic cost and updates will be supported free.Buying PMDG you are supporting the developers directly not a sales agency as is Ariane, therefore buying direct can only ensure more quality complete products in the future from PMDG and not fund the next legal fight. To qoute Mr. Tishma recently "I am now making lots of money, this means expensive lawyers." So, as you can see no change there.Finally, with PMDG you will be able to enjoy quality repaints free, not be dictated to what you or your FS friends can and cannot repaint. RegardsAsh

And, your point was??????? What? Other than Bashing Ariane? You are entitled to your opinion and have the right to state it. Likewise, I have the right to voice my opposing viewpoint. Like I pointed out, you only have to pay for extra liveries if you are one of those simmers who just has to have 12 different 737-300s. Personally, I fly only Continental so I only need that one. I did purchase the PMDG 737NG. I think it's great. It has one of the most accurate flight models I've ever seen. I've only downloaded the Continental livery and not the dozen or so others, so for $40 I received one aircraft and one panel. For about $40 from Ariane I have a 737-300, a 737-500, and a TCAS II panel for both of them. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE here???? Exactly: NONEThere will be another charge for the PMDG 737-800/900 or did you fail to mention that?But, there's always the freeware 737s and panels and dozens of liveries for them. Your choice; your money.

I'm sorry to see that.Regardless of my feelings for Ariane, it would have set a great example for folks to let Martin post without the now stale pattern of point/counterpoint. There still seems to be a "git 'em if they talk about Ariane" mentality that minimizes any point those of us opposed to Ariane's business style are trying to make. The same players (some who I would consider friends) I hope will see this someday.Martin is a talented painter. I think he deserved a right to post about the '800, and grace the screenshots forum with some screenshots. Hello again Ash. Below are 4 screen shots. The first 2 show what happens when, as you suggest, you "copy the fuselage texture" from the -300, to the -400. The 1st picture shows the -300 as purchased from Ariane. The textures need some modification to make them fit the -400. Your post also suggests that no changes to the model were made between each version and the textures create the difference in appearance. Granted, the changes consist of a fuselage stretch and tailskid, but the textures have nothing to do with the difference in length between the two versions.
