The '800 release surprised me. I was expecting a '700 off the line first, since it wouldn't have required too much modification of the BBJ to produce one w/o winglets, and of course one w/winglets is already there. Why don't you post some shots, including the virtual wing views, in the screenshots forum?-John

Will you still have to pay for the Extra Liverys :)?Where is the much promised VC and Authentic Panel for it?I Dont fancy flying a NG with an old panel. Or will that be another

From what I read on the site, no panel included and liveries extra.... Still, it'd be nice to see Martin's shots, and I do respect the fact that he was one of the only folks that offered freeware repaints for the '300 and '400. Let's not turn this into an Ariane bashing thread--even I am trying to hold the high ground here vs. expressing an opinion that will get me nowhere, and no closer to seeing what Martin has for the screenshots forum...-John

I like their attention to detail at least from what I can tell from their website.Anyone else have this bird and if so how do you like it?I have no experience with Ariane, mostly PSS and Flight One, and am a bit cautious going with someone new- are they pretty good?

Ariane have quite a reputation and any post regarding them seems to invoke the best...and worst in us.Their products, the models anyway are pretty good. In fact they are some of the best available. On the other hand, they are extremely expensive and their support is questionable-Some say it's terrible and others say it's good.Either way, thier founder/owner/operator has a terrible track record and has been in court with at least one publisher.Hope that's filled ya in.BTW-Why not go for the PMDG? It's obvioulsy more expensive ($40) but with that you get a complex cockpit enviroment,Excellent Virtual Cockpit, Sounds and an aircraft model which is the best out there-with free lieveries! :)JohnP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewerhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

As usual their visual model is very good. The biggest let down are their textures. They're just awful! I just looked at the Qantas.. makes me wonder if the painter actually looks at any reference shots, because the details are WAY off. And to think, they charge you for them.Add the purchase price of the aircraft, add a few liveries and you easily exceed $40USD, and that doesn't even include a full working panel and sounds. You'll also get a 739 with it! so I know what I'll be buying..

Cheers,

Please post some pics in the SS forum. It sure looks like it has no dynamic shine, can you answer that?Shape looks pretty accurate, as are their others. I have the 733 and like it.Jay:-wave____________________________________________________________________

Hello All,Well, I bit the bullet and have the new Lauda 737-800, (ok, I'm a pushover for winglets, ). Seriously, I love the new aircraft, and shortly with the new sounds come out from Ariane with the new panel I will get them also.I have found that their detail is absolutely the best, and of course, you pay for it . . . but I can honestly say, you do get what you pay for from them.I'm very happy with the new offering . . . Best to all,Clayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"

People, when are you going to wake up to these shysters? The alleged NEW 800 is nothing more than the previous release BBJ made to look like the 800 by playing around with dubious texture sets. As was the 400 series nothing more than the 300 repainted. Prove it? Simple anybody owning the above models, copy the fuselage texture into any of the above mentioned models

You know, I'm darned tired of some of you bashing these guys. I've purchased both their 737-300 and 737-500 in Continental colors as well as the TCAS II panel and am more statisfied. And, as far as service, I get a reply within 24 hours -- every time no matter what my question. I find them most helpful. As for additional liveries, I only fly COA and TWA so I don't load up my files with extraneous liveries anyway. If you are one who does, get someone elses offerings.I don't know (or much care) what this guy "supposedly" did in the past. As far as I know, Ariane is a reputable outfit. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Good for you Steve!!! After all, it IS your money and that gives you every right to defend Ariane if you're happy with them/their rehashes. It doesn't, however, give you the right to moan at other views which portray Ariane in a different light. Ashleigh's views are as important to potential buyers as yours but if you're happy to pay for the same thing over and over again, good luck Sir!(Personally, I'll stick to the amazing all-inclusive PMDG 737 offering and do without questionable texture sets...)Toni.

Pity you miss the point by a mile or three, ah well.
