Opinions on CLS Airbuses?

Featured Replies

Realizing they are lite models, how do they look and fly? I generally like CLS products.

For me, the VC is insufficient. The exterior models are, as always, very nice and there are lots of liveries, but I do not like that VC. I can't say why, but it doesn't feel well to me. I much prefer the Wilco A330 VC, ptobably because the texturing looks more "real".

That surprises me after the MD-80 vc, which is superb. I guess the airbus is an earlier effort, though.

Yes, the MD-80 is far, far newer than the Airbus, and so is their 767. I guess there is a time period of three years or so between these releases. Plus, FSX can of course handle higher texture resolutions. It's mainly the texturing that I dislike in the CLS Airbus VC, although the modeling I also don't like very much. All in all, I prefer the Wilco A330, however flawed it might be.

Hi Tim, I personally don´t have the Airbuses from CLS (I´m using the Wilco version instaed), but I do have the DC-10 Package. In gereal the exterior grafics are very well done, like on their other models. They are somehow nice, crisp and clean. BUT the point is, that the interior isn´t the one you would expect if you see the oudside. The VC is very blocky in some ways, textures are not in that quality you would expect (also in FSX ), some of the not really complicated instruments are hard to read and the systems are not really the way I like it (like PMDG ^^). I think the CLS planes are really great for beginners and the ones, who only want a nice looking aircraft and don´t care about the systems.I just found out, that their DC-10 package is from 2007, so CLS may have developed their skills in making a good VC, I don´t know, but it wuold be nice to know, if their VC´s look better now.

Best regards, Steffen

I have always liked CLS. I have purchased their 747, 767, Airbus packs, DC-10 and MD 80. I didn't even bother installing the Airbus packs in to my latest FSX install. I agree with what others have said about the VC. The appearance of the VC is much better with the Thomas Ruth freeware stuff.

I love the Airbus X vc, but the airplane drives me crazy. Good enough to want to fly it; enough problems to make it frustrating.
Picture's worth a thousand words. CLS MD 80. This is why I was thinking of getting the 'bus, but I guess I'll pass. I have the Wilco collection, but am lately in the mood for Real. Simple.Note Captain Sim Wx Radar incorporated into VC panel.wxradar.jpg

I like their MD80 a lot and I really like how easy they made it to incorporate the weather radar in to the VC.
