September 30, 200322 yr What a nice plane! Great job Bob! It is like the corvette of the aircraft world. I just have a small problem with the view to the left in the 2d cockpit. It freezes everything for about a second or two when you first go to that view, but is ok if you go to that view again right after. I don't have this problem with any other planes, so I wondering if I did something wrong when I installed it. Any suggestions you can offer would be appreciated. Even if it can't be fixed, and it is something with my system, it is only a minor annoyance for such a fine piece of work! Thanks for taking the time to make others sim experiences more enjoyable.
September 30, 200322 yr Where do I download this one from?hmmmmmPlease post the ink..if you may.Thanks.Edited: Never mind...found it.:) Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
September 30, 200322 yr Thanks Boris,As for the momentary freeze, when you are in the 2D area, and look to any other position, it is switching to a 3D view. Not being a systems guru, I can only take a guess that for some reason the system is boging down when trying to load data relative to that position, be it the wing or wing tip texture, or combination of aircraft data and scenery. Not knowing your system info its hard to say. One try might be to delete it and try a fresh install. You might even try a fresh download. Oddly enough that has solved a couple of problems.Good luck and thanks again.Bob C.
October 1, 200322 yr I'm really enjoying this plane... FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
October 1, 200322 yr Yep... the Legacy has become my default airplane. Simply fantastic.A tweak for those who wish to manually shut down the engine (instead of FS doing it for you after landing):In the aircraft.cfg file, under the "GeneralEngineData" section change "min_throttle_limit" value to 0.10000.Hope this helps,
October 1, 200322 yr I just have to say the RealAir SF.260 sounds really mesh well with the Lancair... You have to try it to see what I'm talking about, it's so much better than using the default Cessna sounds...Flying around Washington state to the various Georender airports is a blast with this bird.. October 1, 200322 yr I will have to try that one. Since I didn't have a custom sound pack during production I have been sticking with the default sounds. I guess I can try a little alteration now that the pack has been released. Also, BE58D (aka Sean Shugar)offered an add-on tip over at Simviation:>>Copy and Paste this line into the panel.cfg to add the ability to couple the GPS to the Autopilot. It must go under the "main panel" window. gauge44=Cessna208!Nav-GPS-Switch, 875,83,16,16 <
October 1, 200322 yr For me the RealAir sounds add a little something extra to the feel of the Lancair. Tell me what you think and thanks for the tip above... October 1, 200322 yr The SF-260 sounds do work very well. You can FEEL the power!!On mine though, when the engine is off I am still hearing the "taxi" or "runway" sounds. Do you get this?Bob C.
October 1, 200322 yr "On mine though, when the engine is off I am still hearing the "taxi" or "runway" sounds. Do you get this?"Yes, Bob, I get this too. I'm using Leon Medado's "lm_mooneyengsndfix_V2.zip" with the Legacy now. Available in the Avsim library.
October 1, 200322 yr I can't get past the taxi sound even in RealAir's SF.260. It doesn't bother me though because these sounds rock with the Lancair... October 2, 200322 yr I get this as well with my sounds, but it's barely audible so I just assume it's "ambience". Dunno why it's happening though. Can you blame the Legacy for feeling like it's moving even when parked? ;-)You can workaround it by opening up the SOUND.CFG and going to the section. Look for the line that reads:minimum_volume=6000 (The default value)Lower the value until you can no longer hear it. 5000 does the trick on my system..
October 2, 200322 yr She's like a little jet you can takeoff from any field! :( The FS9 version seems to fly smoother than the FS8 Legacy in FS9, and the reflections look more realistic.Unlike most add-on aircraft which represent planes that would be appropriate to a typical real-world GA scenario, the Legacy is one of those once-in-a-blue-moon dreams that could only come true in FS. Having said that, I like playing with passenger and baggage loading but the Legacy by default allows only 1 station to be edited, the pilot's seat. I've added the right passenger station by modifying the relevant lines of the section:max_number_of_stations=3station_load.0=170, -1.71,-0.865,0station_load.1=1, -1.71,0.865, 0station_load.2=0, 0.0, 0, 0Station 1 is simply Station 0 flipped over to the right side. Station 2 is meant for baggage (Up to 90 lbs worth according to the CFG), but I dunno the right coordinates. Any ideas?
October 2, 200322 yr Thanks for the comments!!Add about another 1.7 to 2 feet to the pilot location for the baggage.i.e. station_load.2=40,-3.4,0,0Watch the gross weight. I find she wants to pull a little to the left when baggage is added. A little rudder trim helps to counter that. I still need to do some tweaking of the FDE. I am a rank beginner at this stuff.CheersBob C.
