October 6, 200322 yr Moderator Shez, great to hear you're at it again. I find myself flying into KCLE at least once a day, simply the best freeware scenery around. Keep up the great work.Just wanted to bump this one.Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAthlonXP2000,AbitKX7-333(latest4in1),512MB/2700SDRAM,WinXP,DirectX8.1,Geforce3TI200(128MB)(Det.30.82),SBlive(WDM5.1.2601.0) I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
October 6, 200322 yr Well thank you Pete. October 6, 200322 yr I travel about once a week to airports all over western US and always take my digital camera. Don't have any trips to Burbank on my schedule right now (was there two weeks ago) but if there's other airports you need photos of let me know. Might take a little while, but eventually I'll get [email protected]
October 7, 200322 yr Shez,You might try to contact Ihor who used to be a regular on the Scenery design forum here and who designed some excellent FS2K2 scenery. He lives in Burbank and had some dozens of excellent aerial photos of the Valley and airport as he was planning on reproducing Burbank for FS2K2. He has a website with his scenery on but I don't have the address unfortunately, but you may find it in the scenery design forum archives. Just a thought.Mike
October 7, 200322 yr Mike,Thanks. Actually I put out a call for him on the scenery design forum but no reply. He and I talked a few months about KBUR scenery so I will try and get in touch with him. Let me got hrough the archives.CheersShez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
October 7, 200322 yr Hay Shez! A KBUR would be great! I love your KSNA and KLGB (live close to and drive by everyday the first, and work at the second on the C-17 Boeing Program since '87) though I wish they were a tad more optimized...pretty heavy FPS hit still. Some details around the Boeing Buildings could use some help, if you ever want to revisit them let me know.Would LOVE to see someone tackle all the Med-small Airports in SoCal...Ontario, Chino, Fullerton, Corona, Bracket, Rialto, Riverside, El Monte, Hawthorne, Cable, Torrance, Big Bear, Catalina, Carlsbad, etc to name a few...He He...
October 7, 200322 yr Shez, I have a couple of way's to get Ihor. Send me a e-mail.Jay i9-13900KS | ASUS Z790 Maximus | Lian Li Galahad II Trinity | G-Skill DDR5-7200 CL34 2x16 | Nvidia 4090 FE | Samsung 990 Pro x 2
October 7, 200322 yr Once you get around to it, for added realism don't forget that two panels in the blast fence at the end of runway 8 are a lighter color. They were replaced after a Southwest 737 skidded through them and wound up on the road a few years ago!Happy ContrailsKeith
October 7, 200322 yr >They were replaced after a Southwest 737>skidded through them and wound up on the road a few years>ago!did Southwest ever get that load of freebees for tanking there?
October 8, 200322 yr Shez, last year Ihor emailed me some pictures taken from a flight he had in a Cessna over LA / San Fernando. I'd be happy to email them to you if you like, but they're not titled so you have to try and work out what they are (not easy if you live in England :-)) and there are rather a lot of them. I have one picture which I know is of Burbank airport on final approach into the sun from a cessna, it's not very good but I'll mail it to you anyway. Might just help.RegardsMike
October 8, 200322 yr Great stuff! Thanks.Shez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
October 8, 200322 yr Little divergent but relates to my comments earlier. The Pilot and Co-pilot were sacked. This from the local ABC News site.."The Boeing 737-300, arriving from Las Vegas, barreled off the runway onto a city street March 5 (2000), striking a car, just missing a gas station and slightly injuring 15 of the 142 people on board. The most seriously injured was the pilot, who suffered scalp cuts.Investigators said the plane made its final descent into Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport at such a steep angle that a cockpit warning system went off, and it was going 208 mph at touchdown when it should have been going around 161 mph."Looks like the pilot had been doing too many carrier landings "Where's the arrestor wire?"http://abcnews.go.com/sections/travel/Dail...west000803.htmlAlso see the following picture site by a local firefighter:http://www.firepictures.com/Plane_Crash_/sw_plane_crash.htmlhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/41830.jpg
