HSSS to HECA - Still need to work on Descent planning - Took The Dreamfleet 727 - Visibility obscured under 2000 feet. Took 3 tries to get down. FIrst, too high, second, go around, runway not insight and my descent was not very stabilized.#rd time around I was able to get it in.

Down at LIMC! First full flight I've had in months! Took the long way around Italy, since I didn't know how far I would have to go to get up to mach 2... turns out around 500nm   I should do some better fuel planning next time though, landed 25000kg over the maximum landing weight :(

Hi Jeff,Yeah, I started my descent a bit late so I was 15 miles out at 350 knots and 9000ft or something like that, so my initial idea of a straight in approach didn't work very well  :(. I would have had a slight tailwind on the straight in approach as well, but not too much... I hadn't even noticed the weather until I was descending past 2500 or so when I all of a sudden couldn't see anything. Then my FO wanted to give me even more things to think about: "Radar altimiter active -- 1000ft above ground -- 800ft -- *WHOOP WHOOP* pull up -- 500ft", while I was turning to line up with the ILS... Then after I landed i noticed i was going a bit to the left on my landing roll, but the nose wheel was still way up in the air so I couldn't do very much about it... Not my best approach and landing ever I have to admit  :(
