October 17, 200322 yr Hi again,Ready for take-off I downloaded real weather inside FS2004 (static weather, without 15 minutes updates).I found while flying some clouds pumping in and out, not a smooth transition.Probably it is a FS problem since everything is static, but anyway to stop the fast weather changes (clouds) ???Ulisses
October 17, 200322 yr What exactly do you mean by "clouds pumping in and out"? While flying, I see clouds out to 80 miles. If I fly to them, I can fly through them around them, etc. If I turn around, I can fly back to the clouds I took off under. Essentially, the clouds never change except gradually if I have dynamic weather enabled or if there is high wind... If you are not seeing this, something is configured wrong. Perhaps some further details are in order.sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
October 17, 200322 yr Hi !When I take-off (overcast) and fly through the clouds, when I pass the overcast (BLUE SKY) I can see some clouds appearing (not gradual) and in one second the overcast goes away (I can see the ground)...when I reach another city some clouds disappear and others appear, not gradual, it just appears or disappears in front of me.I'll do additional tests...Are you using FSUIPC ?Thanks,Ulisses
October 17, 200322 yr I do have FSUIPC, but there's something wrong with what you're describing that is not related to FSUIPC. What are the visibility settings you've got for maximum visibility, cloud draw distance, and cloud density?sgPS> if you have FSUIPC registered or unregistered? What are your settings there? October 17, 200322 yr Hi,i have FSUIPC registered.Max. Vis=60Cloud Draw=60Cloud Density=50I use FSUIPC normal defaults, it only restrict the visibility in clear days to 8000, cloud to 4000, rain to 1000.Thanks,Ulisses
October 17, 200322 yr Nothing obvious there...One anomaly, you can reduce the "clear days" visibility to 6000 since your maximum visibility in sim is 60 miles...When you fly with a weather theme such as building storms or fair cold front, do you see that same thing regarding overcast/clouds/rapid transitions? If so, I would try clicking the FSUIPC button labeled "minimum weather defaults" and see if that helps. Finally, see if you can take some screen shots using FSScreen to illustrate exactly what you're seeing - maybe its a graphics anomally? Finally, try setting your 3D clouds percentage to 0% and see what happens. Switch it to 100% and see what happens. Maybe you've got a texturing problem with 3D clouds. have you installed any modified cloud textures, including FSW's "FPS and fix"?sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
October 17, 200322 yr Yes, I'm using the FSW fix, I'll check the other points you wrote. Thanks so much for the help,Ulisses

October 18, 200322 yr >I don't think the new 3D clouds are formed of 2d images, I>understand they are particles rendered in 3D, so you can fly>through them.>>UlissesI could be wrong, but there is/was a video on the microsoft site showing how clouds are built using gmax for fs9.The biggest problems I have is barometric pressure changes and wind changes. I use FSMeteo which is good, but the wind changes etc are more severe than using the weather fs has.Frit
