November 3, 201015 yr HiIm just wondering What software is out there to create airports.i want to make a small airstrip in a town near where i live, and im just wondering what software to use. its not a large airstrip, grass runway + taxiway, enough to land my DA42 at with about 3 or 4 parking spaces.Any suggestions/Help would be appreciated, or if someone offers to create it for me, even better :DHeres the Sketch of the airfield, the runway is 2000ft long, but the ramp is not to scale, not sure what size ramp i need to fit atleast 3 DA42's + 1 inside a hangar If anyone does offer to create this strip, i will provide more info on location etc etc... November 3, 201015 yr You don't say which sim you are targeting. For FS9 the AFCAD2 program will meet the basic requirements, but won't accomplish everything you indicate. An alternative is ADE9X, which can do more than AFCAD but still might need some additional support. ADE9X also will work in FSX, but you need to first install the sdk from FSX deluxe/gold/xcel.The general approach to take:1. Modify default terrain as needed (typical is to flatten the airport area and apply a grass texture which does not call any autogen objects).2. Create your airport facility data. This will also provide your visual scenery for runways, taxiways, and aprons (if you use ADE9X you can also do taxisigns). 3. Create custom scenery objects if needed, or locate any scenery libraries that might include objects that would work.4. Place your scenery objects.scott s..

I tried again with unzipped attachment (i/e bgl files): same result.that's all.If you are so kind to draw me to the right way to send to Liam the exercise, i will appreciate so much!anyway ... i beg your pardon :( bye Aldo, legnanees simmer

Just a note: the scenery is very simple, located in coordinates not so far from Stockport municipality, Manchester UK; a grass runway and concrete parking area are placed, there are also placed an hangar with welcome sign, some ultralights, an air balloon and one wind bag indicator. Unfortunately, there is a "bug" that I'm not able to solve: the texture for the wind bag is missed (not able to understand it is ok in other italian scenery). Have a look to the enclosed preview and find this scenery next days in the library (I'll put it for you)For anybody that can help me to understand and solve the missed texture problem, I report on the following the scenery partial sintex used:........................................................................<!-- wind bag --><SceneryObject lat="N53 40.9600" lon="W2 14.7400" alt="0.0000M" altitudeIsAgl="TRUE" pitch="0.00" bank="0.00" heading="330.00" imageComplexity="NORMAL"><LibraryObjectname="5d9d93eea956e4fd2d0f5e78c1ce8a8b"scale="1.0"/></SceneryObject><ModelData name="5d9d93eea956e4fd2d0f5e78c1ce8a8b" sourceFile="Library_variousobject2_20.mdl" fileOffset="0"/>........................................................................ciao to everybody & enjoy with AVSim Aldo, legnanees simmer
