November 8, 201015 yr Considering you could easily start your own cargo line with this thing, making money off payload wouldn't be so hard. I say it's a good investment. Much better than leasing an MD-11, IMO.BTW, can you even get a type rating on a -200 anymore? Erik L.

You should be running FEDEX :) the CEO must thinking if only I had purchased a fleet of old 737-200 aircraft ;) The only thing that aircraft would be good for is smuggling tons of cocaine out of South America. November 8, 201015 yr Guys,I once had the opportunity to almost purchase a Continental Airlines retired Boeing 737 for... wait for it... $20,000 USD. It was headed for the scrap yards and a small company called Desert Air Spares was selling it dirt cheap with everything included (even the weather radar, which I suspect may have set Continental back more than the $20k pricetag). At the time, my Professor at Embry Riddle was interested in cutting off the nose and turning it into the worlds first Full Flight Sim to utilize a real aircraft flight deck in its entirety, but the school rejected the 20k bill.We almost bought it ourselves once the school refused the bill, but decided to let Desert Air Spares take on other contracts. The plane was chopped up and sold elsewhere :( Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
