October 17, 200322 yr I have a GeForce 3 Ti500 video card. I now have FS9. Put the 2 together and this is what I get."Your computer cannot currently use 3-D hardware acceleration as it has less than the required amount of video memory. Software 3-D mode has been enabled."The graphics on my FS9 look like big time crap. Where have I gone wrong. You would think that MS would have produced a new sim that would at least operate with a decent video card. Or maybe I have a setting wonky. I do have the latest drivers. Can anybody help?
October 17, 200322 yr That video card should handle 3D Hardware Acceleration. Did you check the DirectX properties page?Run>dxdiag>, then check the "Display" page.Also... what DirectX version are you running?
October 17, 200322 yr Dan,Keep at it. I have a GF3 Ti200 and I think it works great in FS04. Could be your driver.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
October 17, 200322 yr These pics are MY Geforce3Ti500 graphics....Athlon1900XP/Geforce3Ti500 --- just about two years old.L.Adamson
October 17, 200322 yr Hi Great pics. What driver are you using. I too have a GeForce3Ti500. Thanks, regards, Bob.
October 17, 200322 yr > What driver are you using. I too have a>GeForce3Ti500. Would you believe 23.11 clear back from 11/29/01!!!I had updated numerous times, only to roll back to this "trusty" driver. Haven't bothered trying to update recently, as this driver tends to have little lockups, drop to desktop, etc..L.Adamson
October 17, 200322 yr Thanks for the help guys.My number 1 monitor is showing up on my control panel display as the smaller one. The number 2 monitor is my 19" one with the GeForce card. My guess is FS9 is picking up its info from the number 1 monitor. Is there a way to change the way this happens? Maybe a way to assign the 1 and 2 monitors vice versa? Or, get FS9 to get it's info from the number 2 monitor. In my control panel, display, the number 2 monitor is set as the primary.

October 17, 200322 yr OK Try this:Go into display properties, then click the advanced button, then go to the "troubleshoot" tab and check if the hardware acceleration slider is set all the way to "full".It sounds like its set at none since you only can run software acceleration.Hope you get it sorted! :)
October 17, 200322 yr The only way I could solve it was by removing the second video card. The program keeps picking up its settings as it comes up as monitor number 1.Back to 1 monitor. That really sucks.
October 17, 200322 yr Just a thought here, but could there be an agp vs pci issue here. If that is the case, you might want to go into your bios and make sure that your agp card is the one recognized first (assuming that's the card linked to your primary monitor)...Sherm
October 17, 200322 yr Author In most computers the BIOS, in the presence of two video cards, will assign the PCI card as #1 and the AGP as #2. You can generally change this in the BIOS setup routine; ie, make the AGP the first card.Doug Dawson
October 21, 200322 yr Your correct Sherm,My primary is the AGP card. I changed the bios to make the AGP the first monitor also. The problem now is when I make the AGP the first in the bios, it shuts down the PCI card. Soooo, now I am back to 1 monitor.
