ATC callsign ignores Airline.

Featured Replies

Here's an example - I'm flying an Airbus (Wilco) with British Airways livery, and flight number 194.I've checked the aircraft.cfg for this plane, and the line "atc_airline=SPEEDBIRD" is there. In FSX, I've checked the details of the aircraft and callsign SPEEDBIRD and flight number 194 is also there. However, when starting ATC, "SPEEDBIRD" is ignored and all I get is the flight number (i.e."194").Is there a fix for this to be able to get ATC to say "SPEEDBIRD 194"?Thanks,Toni.

I messed with this with my FedEx call signs. I had two call signs in my FSX, one Fedex and one Fed Ex. I switched between them, and loaded the aircraft and then back. This worked for me...Try switch to United or something, load the aircraft and then back again.Cant give any promises, but this worked for me

This is correct. In your ...\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Simulator X File, locate 'Airlines' (no quote marks), a Microsoft Office Outlook Configuration File. This lists all the airlines that FSX recognizes. Speedbird is there - check the spelling and spaces.Chris David

Thanks Chris - SPEEDBIRD and EASY are both listed in the Airlines file (spelled correctly etc), but I can't get ATC to 'say' them.....I've tried changing to LANDMARK (default 'included' airline as supplied in FSX) and ATC says LANDMARK etc. But when switching back to SPEEDBIRD (or EASY), all I get is the flight number....Any ideas to get ATC to recognise these callsigns?Toni.

When you select your aircraft select inf On the airline box open it up. Those are the only airlines that FS ATC will recognize. You need to use the program FS EditVoicePack, You can get it here (Free) www.editvoicepack.com . When you update ATC with it, be sure to select the update airline list option. In addition to the airline list it will improve FS ATC phraseology and allow you to speed up the commands.

Thanks

I currently use World of AI traffic in FSX, and while testing, I've found that FSX identifies British Airways' callsign as "Speed Bird". And so, the easiest way to do this is to simply add a space between the words 'Speed' and 'Bird'. I've never seen an EditVoicePack file for Garuda's callsign "Indonesia" though. Dave.

Dave is correct. The entry is SPEED BIRD not SPEEDBIRD...

I just checked my airline.cfg file updated by editvoicepack just today (Changed from ICAO back to FAA) and it does include "Indonesia". Checked editvoicepack and it also has a voice file for it to match as well.

Thanks
