December 13, 201015 yr Hi guys and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I have done a lot of research on line and from what I can find....Voxatc does not play well with Ultimate traffic 2. I like the new version 6 very much. It seems that the best bet for AI is Traffic x and I would like to here from anyone that has Voxatc working with AI traffic before I change gears. I know that there is a a Forum below but it does not get much traffic and I am hoping the gereral population here have some good experience to share. Thanks Sam Prepar3D V5.3/[email protected]/EVGA 3080 TI/1000W PSU/Windows 10/40" 4K Samsung@3840x2160/ASP3D/ASCA/ORBX/ ChasePlane/General Aviation/Honeycomb Alpha+Bravo/MFG Rudder Pedals/
December 13, 201015 yr VoxAtc creates it's own AI Traffic so you have to not use FSX generated traffic. I would guess that includes any third party addon as well. I really liked the program but there are some bugs yet so from my prospective and given the price I would wait until they work out some of the problems. I tried the Demo so you might as well and see how it goes. I've decided to wait a little before buying.captmac

I like the program and I know it creates it's own ai. There are hints that with programs like Traffic x it will use the airplanes to create traffic with however this seems hard to comfirm or find any details so far. The voxatc folks do't seem to visit the forums much and I have had no luck to this point getting a responce from email. Was hoping someone had been there done that! December 13, 201015 yr It handles traffic abysmally unfortunately, many times it spawns aircraft in at the airport and they bounce 20 feet into the air then disappear half inside a building and never move again. Sometimes traffic starts to pull away from the stand then it stops after a few inches never to move again for the rest of the session.Landing traffic oddly seems to completely ignore the touch down zone and lands at the absolute beginning of the runway threshold. Even when the slider is set to 100% the sky is almost completely empty much of the time and the radios are very quite even in densely populated airspace once in the cruise and the chatter seems to be almost completely faked too and doesn't relate to the small amount of traffic that is around you. Pro Flight Emulator Deluxe for example is that busy on the radios that you end up having to reduce the radio chatter slider to get a word in edgeways and all the communications are real :( What I started doing was turning on MyTraffic X 5.3a when in the cruise and then turned it off again when I get down to 10,000 feet or so, otherwise it gets very lonely up there. I gave the version 6 demo a good going over for 6 days and then gave up on it. If they ever get the program actually interacting with the real AI traffic in the sim 100% of the time and in a competent manner then I will most definitely buy it. In its current buggy state though there is no way on this earth I forking out £85+ for the DVD version with the high quality voices, I don't even think its worth £45 without the voices to be honest. Cheers, Andy.

December 13, 201015 yr Well I've never seen this type of behaviour from MyTraffic aircraft before either and I'm on the beta team so its probably something to do with the way VoxATC does it's thing via simconnect. Cheers, Andy.

December 14, 201015 yr No need to buy another traffic package. Disable UT2 and let Voxatc use the UT models. Nathan
December 14, 201015 yr Well I've never seen this type of behaviour from MyTraffic aircraft before either and I'm on the beta team so its probably something to do with the way VoxATC does it's thing via simconnect.I doubt that. Like you I use My Traffic X 5.3a and never see AI behave like this with VoxATC.Is this with the new Version 6?Yep, I was beta-tester on version 6.
December 14, 201015 yr Is this with the new Version 6?Yes, 6.04 will use the MTX models and place airlines at gates that match parking codes. Sometimes if there are multiple airlines that are noted to be at a gate (say BAW, DAL) then you could wind up with either / or. On my first few flights that made me feel as if random planes were being assigned willy-nilly, but I was wrong. But Andy's right that they do "bounce" when they appear. (Though I've not seen them crash a building yet.) I can live with that artifact - in fact I've named it the "Bewitched bounce" after 60s TV stylings. But I have seen a/c in taxi literally disappear, whereas other a/c have appeared out of blue sky (sometimes my TCAS blinks like it's full of snowflakes).Quirky behavior is one thing, but I've not noticed where these AI are any more intelligent than stock FSX a/c. I've seen two a/c guided down a taxiway through one another, odd routings that take a/c out of their way to go in what should be a straight line. I've spent time at several GA airports to see two Cessnas do TNGs no more than 500 feet apart from one another. (Maybe I've ran into training for the quadrennial synchronized Touch-and-Golympics??)I can understand the impetus to control departures and arrivals at one's departure and arrival airport. But the skies do seem rather lonely - not void of a/c, but not busy. It filled me with melancholy to take off from KSQL and to fly over a deserted KSFO.If VoxATC could somehow allow the normal FSX AI traffic to exist (whether native or from any add-on package) but to delete all of that traffic from the user's departure and arrival airport and manage that traffic within VoxATC - all the while monitoring and mimicking the FSX AI radio "traffic" sort of the way Radar Contact does - that might give users the best of both worlds.I'm deciding against a current purchase of VoxATC, but not for the AI reasons. It's literally on the cusp....
December 14, 201015 yr VoxATC is all about comms. While it may not generate visible AI traffic as well as the built in ATC, in nearly all cases it does a good enough job so that what you see is the same as what you are hearing. If you want to talk to ATC in the most realistic way, then VoxATC is the way to go. For instance, no other ATC add-on will give you proper clearances including the correct full name for SIDs and STARs from the current navdata AIRAC cycle and monitor your progress while you fly the procedure or give an alternate routing in the departure clearance. There is also a utility available for UT2 users that enables VoxATC to use the UT2 aircraft and flight plans. For more details use the contact page at VoxATC.com VoxAtc creates it's own AI Traffic so you have to not use FSX generated traffic. I would guess that includes any third party addon as well.
