January 5, 201115 yr I am trying to get Yannick Lavigne's FS2002 Falcon 50 to work in FS9. For the most part it works, but I am getting a YLF50_Overhead.gau error. Does anyone know to fix this?

January 6, 201115 yr Author I do have the FS2004 version. In fact I downloaded it from the link you posted. I tried to install the plane again but still get the same gauge error. I don't understand what could be wrong.

I don't understand what could be wrong.I just downloaded and installed it as a test - other than the warning that it might be incompatible, it loaded and displayed just fine for me.I unzipped the package to a temporary folder first so I could see what it was all about. One troublesome thing for me was that it wants to place an older version of the file named FSSound.dll in my modules folder. I did not do that of course.I also placed the gauges in the aircraft's panel folder (that is where FS looks first for gauges anyway) as I did not want to clutter up my gauges folder if I do not keep the aircraft. You might check to see if you have the following in your FS9.cfg file:[OLDMODULES]FSSound.dll=1If not, just add it at the bottom of the cfg file. That simply tells FS it is alright to use that dll file which it may think is incompatible.Keep us posted.
January 6, 201115 yr Author Thank you Opa. I didn't add the [OLDMODULES] entry to my FS9 CFG entery. Everything is working fine with this plane now.

I did not have it in my modules folder and I see no difference with or without it installed. If I don't use it should I put [OLDMODULES]FSSound.dll=1 at the end of my fs9.cfg file? Thanks for any advice.
January 6, 201115 yr Moderator I did not have it in my modules folder and I see no difference with or without it installed. It is a module that, oddly enough, provides sound support to the gauge system. If you don't have it installed, you won't hear switch clicks, etc. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
