FS Panel Studio Questions

Featured Replies

Hello,I am interested in creating some custom aircraft for FSX. I have some questions about FS Panel Studio, for editing or creating panels. After you have made the .BMP files for the panel, can you import the .BMP files in FS Panel Studio, and place gauges anywhere on the panel? How can you make the .BMP files?

Thanks,

Kevin L

I have a question simular to this. I want to overlay a .bmp from FDSFX Flight Enhancement onto the PMDG Radio Panel. I know how to install the gauges into it once I get it in there but cant find a way to get Panel Studion to let me overlay the .bmp. How do I do this? Thanks

Not sure about what your asking bmarcoux2.To create panel bitmap images use photoshop or paint or gimp, etc..

Yes, the little gauge button click it and it will show all the gauges in your gauges folder you can use them to start. If you'd like you could even use an already existing bitmap or panel and just work with that.

Hello, Does FSX have to be installed to run FS Panel Studio? Would it be possible to run FS Panel Studio on a laptop (without FSX) and when the panel would be finished copy it to a different computer (that runs FSX)?

Thanks,

Kevin L

Yes, no and no.

I would opine the answer "maybe," since I haven't (and have no need to) test this myself...FS Panel Studio has to have access to the sim's ..\Gauges folder, as well as the specific aircraft's ..\panel folder in order to work...So, it might be possible to create a dummy folder structure on your laptop, and have at a bare minimum the ..\gauges folder and your aircraft's ..\panel folder populated with the required files. However, this seems like far too much effort for so little gain. Presumably you are thinking about the possibility to work on a panel project whenever you aren't at home (or wherever your flightsim 'puter is located). If you are working from home though you can work from your laptop without FS installed by simply accessing your flightsim machine across a home network......such as I could do (if I wanted) from my bed here at my home... :LMAO:I do this everyday from my development computer though, by simply configuring my local copy of FS Panel Studio to access the ..\FSX and ..\FS9 folders of my flightsim computer in the other room.
