VRS F/A-18E Superbug

Featured Replies

Hi, I´ve got infected by the military flying virus some days ago when I purchased the Iris F-16. Now I´m considering to buy the VRS F/A-18, cause I´ve heard only good things and it looks really astonishing. But my problem is that I do not own such a good pc as some of you do, sadly no i7 and therefore I do not know how the F/A-18 will behave in point of performance. Would be bad if I spend arround 45 $ for an under my actual system unflyable plane, that would be a shame. So could someone out ther be so kind to tell my how the F/A-18 might behave on my system? The spec´s are down below in my sig. Thanks fo your help.

Best regards, Steffen

I have a Q9550 o'clocked to 3.8 and paired with a G275 and 4 gigs RAM and can fly the Superbug with no problems. It's a tremendous FSX aircraft and its SP1 is due very soon.

I have the superbug, and it is quite complicated to fly but exciting the experience is great. My system is somewhat robust.i7 920, 3 ghz, 12gig RAM, GTX 260 1mb video card. I find that I get blurries when I put in the afterburners and fly over 350kts. So my system will reasonably keep up it has to work pretty hard.

The superbug has a module that allows you to change its level of detail and hence performance. So if you are willing to compromise on the appearance of the plane it is possible to use it on a low powered system. In my case I can run it with max detail but even with my system I use every possible tweak to maximize FSX performance. This includes limiting autogen, which can really hit frame rates. The SuperBug is simply awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone who has the time and motivation to learn about its many systems.Cheers,Noel.

I noticed the Superbug at Frys and Best buy for $29.99.

Nice, but unfortunately a no go, since I´m living in Germany. Well, if I´ll get the flight to JFK on Thursday, buy it in NYC and fly back on Friday, how would this be? It would cost me all in all (+Superbug) 1301.25 $. Nice price for an FS plane, or?

The 1301.25 include also the return flight, right? I think you made a mistake in the calculation. As soon as you have bought the Superbug in NYC, you can hop into your new plane and you´ll be back in Germany within a blink of an eye. So a one way Ticket would be enough and much cheaper :(
