No takeoff

Featured Replies

Hello,I recently bought a copy of Aerosoft's Trondheim Værnes X, a very nice airport scenery for Trondheim (Norway). I have a problem with RC though. Tower tells me to line up on the runway (09), but I never get clearance for takeoff. I have waited up to 15 minutes and nothing happens. Aircrafts that were cleared for landing are ordered to go around because I am just standing there doing nothing.Any suggestions?

First update:Make Runways utility version 4.43 (for Radar Contact primarily)from:http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/Install the updated .exe in your FS folder. If RC resides on your FS PC then update from within RC the scenery database rebuild. If RC is on a network first execute makewrys.exe directly in your FS folder. Then run the scenery rebuild utility in RC answering YES to the wideFS question. This will insure RC sees you in the correct position in relation to your new scenery.Be sure your aircraft heading while sitting on the runway is within about 25 degrees of runway heading and your brakes are on and you are not moving. RC4 does not support expedited rolling take-offs. Check the RC manual for details.Look ahead of you to see if any AI are stuck on the runway ahead of you.You can also try temporarily reducing traffic density. If still no success alt-tab to RC to start Debug after clearance delivery and then alt-tab to FS. If you are still stuck after a few minutes then alt-tab back to RC and quit it to save the log and send it in per the pinned topic at the forum head.

Well that may be the official line Ron but I've carried out several rolling take-offs in FS9 and received clearance from RC.Iain Smith

I cheat too Iain! Big%20Grin.gif RC4 doesn't check you're stationary. v5 has new code for expediting departures with inbounds closer than in v4.

Are you referring to an "immediate takeoff" clearance...?

Thanks Ray. I don't know what I'm looking forward to most RCv5 or PMDG's 737NGX! Probably RCv5 as it can be used with all my airliners.Iain
