Never mind :) I downloaded a program that tells me everything about my system, I think I may just leave my system the way it is, especially after researching overclocking. With a laptop it seems that it is unadvisble due to heating issues.

Yeah, overclocking a laptop is not a good idea. If you have high-end components already chances are they're going to die a quick death anyway. I fix PCs for a living and I see high-end "gaming" laptops come in all the time and every single one of them has some component or components that have suffered heat failure.

thanks for the replies, ya i noticed the laptop throws off much more heat than a desktop, so im best to leave it, and besides fs runs decent enough as it is so really no need for it.

You fix PC's for a living.. explains your juniour high level knowledge of computers. Are you even A+ certified?I hear you can get that at some high schools.

I am a professional. I *actually* troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix all varieties of PC problems. I do not work for the Geek Squad, I work for a small, private company. All we do is *actually* fix PC problems. Have you ever disassembled, repaired, and reassembled a laptop you've never worked on before without reading the service manual and without having any screws leftover? I do almost every day. Ever replace a broken DC jack? I do all the time. Ever identify a performance issue that every other tech in the shop with a combined experience of > 20 years said they never would have guessed? I have. I have private customers that are flight simmers who have never been happier. I know more about the PC than you know about *anything*. A+ certification is a joke. I took both hardware and software tests years ago without studying, in less time than was allotted for a single test, and passed with flying colors. I. Know. PCs. I have several vendor certs and 10+ years on the job. Your post reveals you as the troll you are.

Sorry David.. but if you notice he's been trying to pick a fight for the last week. I'll do a better job ignoring him... it's one thing having a back and fourth with Fr. Bill and quite another thing being attack by this guy and not knowing how to respond because he's not making any sense in the first place. If there was any possibility of a meaningful discussion I would take it.

I don't mean to be disrespectful sir, but he is not the trouble maker. Look at all the recent arguments on this forum, and look who they are between. TechGuy is always one of them. And thankyou for bringing a stop to their nonsense. I read this forum to learn, not to watch a tennis match.

Chris,For the last time, please stop.

All I'm saying is that you're targetting the wrong people.

Chris: thanks for the support. But I think what Dave didn't appreciate is me crossing the line from helpful nerd, to Joe Pesci's "get your shine box" routine.
