Hi all Ihave a quite powerfull self built computer:PSU:Crosshair TX850W 70A-12V railMotherboard: Asus Crosshair formula IVCPU: Amd Pheom II 955 3,2Ghz x4 (OC to 3,6)RAM: Kingston hyper X, default 800Mhz (OC to 1600Mhz)Graphic Cards in Crossfire: 1xfx Radeon 5870 HD GPU 875Mhz Mem 1300Mhz Quad pumped (5,2Ghz) 1Saphire Rdeon 5870 HD GPU 850Mhz Mem 1200Mhz Quad pumped (OC GPU 875Mhz Mem 1300Mhz) to match my faster oneI get in xample: Just cause 2, 90-250Fps with all options utrahigh and everything set to on with res 1920x1080, Need for speed Hot pursuite 45Fps and up also max graphics, medal of honor 60-250fps on max etc.Fsx I have everything on ultra High exept Mesh comp =75% Scenery comp=very dense and autogen = dens.With does settings i get 12-22Fps which i think are very low compared for ex to the graphic detail on just cause 2 and there I get minimum 90FPS.I know this game is not tweeked for multy GPU and CPU but i know there are some tweeks.I would like an config that do not eliminate graphic because If i want that i just down the sliders, if i disable crossfire it will get slightly better but small hacks from time to time but I would like to be able to fly fluently.Also in my config file of the fsx i can not see everything , and is only available if i open it with My traffic addon, i tried do add different things but it wont save.What to do ? The next Microsoft flight i hope will have support for multi core and GPU I wrote some feedback to them.TyMB

Ty...But really what that file does I could have done my self in fsx settings, it removes some of the check boxes, reduce the resolution.. so It was not what I was hoping for.I ll have to live with the litle twitches from time to time and keep my settingsMB

Most of your problem lies with your CPU. Mine is very similar to yours, and the AMD CPU's do not deliver anywhere near the performance of the Intel I7's and the like.FSX is extremely CPU dependent. You absolutely cannot run with maxed sliders as your computer cannot handle it. I know this from experience.

TY... but as i understand and read about there are guys with i7 processores and they can nut run maxim on the game... Of coures its not an I7 but the first 5-10 seconds all cores are full but after, the third core and 4th are going down to about 40% load, which means 60% +60% o those cores gets unused.Hope they optimize the next around the graphiccards power instead of CPU.. as i wrote in just cause 2which is extremley much high rezolution and extreme hires lansdscape Iget a min of 90Fps but again that one is based on graphic cards.TY

http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=9220 and i also have My traffic 2010, x-graphics, active sky x and FDC Lice Cockpit as addons that i always start with fsx. But yeah you wright Intel ar ebetter than AMD... i gues i should go for an 6 core, until hopefully MS releases the next MF with full support for Crossfire and SLI wihich will take alot of load from your cpu.MB

And also As i mentioned this is with crossfire activated, without crossfire with those high settings there are close to none lags. So apperantly it really hates more than 1 graphic card.SO my processor should be fine, I think this game is optimized only for x2 cores, since as I said my other 2 cores are down to less than 40% while the first to are full 90-100% load.What i was looking for was a real Quad core tweek, letting the game know it hase two more cores at its disposal, and probably a crossfire patch.MB

First of all, you need to have FSX SP2 or Acceleration installed to get optimal CPU usage.Secondly, FSX will use the additional cores for scenery loading only, so you will see allcores busy in heavy scenery, and mostly idle in sparse scenery.If you set: [JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=14the main FSX load will run on the second CPU core with the last twocores working on scenery loading.

SSRY... i have only the acceleration pack.... I just remembered i wanted to install the SP2 but it tald me I don needed, so i forgot. So i wrote i have both, but the correct answer is only Acceleration packTYMB

Acc.pack will install both SP1 and SP2 automatically if not installed previously. You have FSX with SP1, SP2 and Acc.pack if you installed Acc.pack. No problem!:(

I highly recommend tweaking your bufferpools, its one of the most important tweaks in my opinion, along with TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT. Maybe you can get away with

[bUFFERPOOLS]UsePools=0

if you cannot you need to do something like this

[bUFFERPOOLS]UsePools=1Poolsize=70000000RejectThreshold=131072

Also try TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=70it should be under the [DISPLAY] section

Wims is absolutely correct. Use the second bufferpools tweak if the first causes instability.Also, as mentioned already the affinity mask tweak has helped on my CPU:[JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=14Try them all. Most will help.
