January 17, 201115 yr How do these two aircraft compare? I have the 310 and really enjoy flying it. If you have both, which do you like best and how do they compare?ThanksBob i7-975 ext @ 4.0, Astek 120MM water cooler, ASUS P6T X58 MB, EVGA GTX 480 1.5 GB, 6GB Kingston Hyper X 1600 MHz, 2 128GB Kingston SSDs, 1 TB WD Black HD, CoolerMaster 1000W power supply, Cooler Master Storm Sniper case, TrackIR, Win 7 64 bit

If you have both, which do you like best and how do they compare?ThanksBobNot an easy question to answer since this is somewhat of a personal preference..For me, Carenado makes the best looking/feeling cockpits, period. The Bonanza is my all-time favorite, and the C340 is quickly becoming a contender. The C310 is fun to fly, but somewhat of a handful on takeoff, and still not very stable at level flight. The C340 by comparison is much easier to control.Even though I enjoy taking the C310 up from time to time, the C340 is likely to becomea steady cross-country companion, much as the C421 was in FS9. January 18, 201115 yr Hey Folks,Agree with Bert. To me the C340 is heavier than the C310, so the 310 is a "sporty" plane the 340 is a "long range" plane, both a fun to fly, so buy them both Cheers to all. January 18, 201115 yr Moderator The C310 is fun to fly, but somewhat of a handful on takeoff, and still not very stable at level flight. The C340 by comparison is much easier to control.Bert, both aircraft are -in real life- a "handful on takeoff" because of the huge torque factors. Using right-rudder and slightly asymmetrical thrust will provide better control. Also, all Cessna twins with the main tanks located on the wings are "not very stable at level flight" because of all that fuel sloshing around in the tanks that're constantly affecting the cg point. This "Dutch Roll" is very much in keeping with reality. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
January 18, 201115 yr The C310 is fun to fly, but somewhat of a handful on takeoff, and still not very stable at level flight. The C340 by comparison is much easier to control. The problem is mainly due to the heavy main tip tanks. The 310 has even a tendency to dutch roll in turbulence and this behaviour has been incorporated into the FSX model. On the 340 with the longer fuselage this effect should be less pronounced.Once Carenado issues a patch concering the big bugs like the flight dynamics and the attitude indicator, it might become a serious threat for the Milviz 310 ;)
