Low vision beta testers?

Featured Replies

Hi all,I was just wondering if any of the PMDG beta testers are folks with low vision. VC tends to be harder to use, IMO, and this a/c will be VC-only, as I understand it. Nevertheless, I still can't wait for the NGX to get here!dan davison

Well, we don't give eye tests, but we do have people of all ages and from all walks of life. Do we have any beta testers who are sight impaired? As far as I know, no.We have, however, put a lot of emphasis on clarity inside the VC. Our goal right from the start was to do away with blurry cockpits, and create text that looked good and readable both up close and from afar. With the zoom function in the virtual cockpit, you should have no problem reading the panel, as we recently showcased in this screenshot:133396_170471359659323_165758250130634_354781_791847_o.jpg

Thanks for the clarification. If all labels are that clear, I shouldn't have too many problems. A example of "I can't read it" is the COM panel in the 747X (2D & VC). There's just not enough contrast. Same for the center of the overhead panel (what fire handles?) Thanks for the info!dan davison

Dan,You should look at EZdok camera software... You can very easyly program different points of view and very effectively switch between a view and another one. In fact you just need 1 click to have a close-up of, say, the FMS and just another click to go back to your main cockpit view.I had eye surgery last summer and had big troubles reading small texts displayed on dark backgrounds for a few months... EZdok helped a lot for my FSX experience.
